dreamdeferred  The new islamica reminds me of the first time I lived with roomates in college. We all had different schedules and never saw each other. Sometimes I wondered if I had roomates at all... but then I would see a half-eaten tray of pizza on the counter and I'd be like "yeah... still have roomates".

    I understand, and thanks for an elaborate explanation! But allow me to ask a question of different character. A bit banal actually, heh; why do Americans fall, easily, prey to mass hysteria? What is it with the collective American mentality that generates hysterias such as mcCarthyism and the Red Scare, Y2K and, more recently, Islamophobia? OK, I'm really not elevating Europeans here, we have our skeletons and our idiocy aswell, but for some reason all thing mass-produced is associated with the USA. Mass-culture, mass-thinking, mass-production. What's your take on that?

    Is the mistrust of governmental control and socialism due to mcCarthyism or is it more fundamental than that? All over Europe, at least Western Europe, the governments opposed communism and communist parties were banned or surveilled. And Norway, of all countries had alot to fear due to our significant border and history together. They moved past this phase, you know. Whats wrong with the USA? Is it the remnants of mcCarthy and when will they ever fade away and be limited to the history books, or is it a stubborn idea of self-reliance that keeps you from depending on your governments? LOL, sorry though, my intention is not to turn your wall into a political discussion on the future of american polemics ;)

    It was so so so so funny when Obama was called a socialist during his campaign. Obama is more conservative than the most stuck-up, Israel-loving, Ameria-worshipping blue politician with an office in Oslo. Why are zee american people so against social democracy? It's like being against water and air.
