In Topic: Robin Gibb dead at 62:(

This must be quite a record, with 4 major music artists dying in the same year so far, 3 of which died in the same month:
1) Whitney Houston - February 11, 2012
2) Adam Youch (Beastie Boys) - May 4, 2012
3) Donna Summer - May 17, 2012
4) Robin Gibb (The Bee Gees) - May 20, 2012
And interestingly enough, all of them, except Whitney Houston, basically died from cancer.
The lives of successful professional musicians can be really taxing. No privacy, no time to themselves, on the road half the time. When you think about it, it's amazing so many of them are able to keep going for so long, even discounting drugs and alcohol. -

I got so lost in the film that it made me doubt my own sanity. Kind of like Pan's Labyrinth. Just like PL, I'll probably have to watch Black Swan a second time to really have it sink in. Very heavy movie though.
Now that review makes me want to watch Pan's Labyrinth again. Or El Orfanato (sp?) by the same director. Soooo disturbingly good.
Yeah, it didn't turn out to be about what I thought it would be about.
The Basketball Diaries. Good, very harrowing, don't think I'll ever be watching it again.
LA Confidential. This is EASILY one of the greatest movies of the 90's, and one of the best-made movies I've ever seen! The more I watch it, the more I love it. -

For example, today I learned that the Garden of Eden was not located on Earth (from my Abdullah Yusuf Ali translation of the Qu'ran). I always thought it was on Earth due to former Christian knowledge and news reports of Saddam Hussein draining the Garden of Eden many years ago.
So, basically humans existed in a different place before Earth.
The Bible doesn't explicitly tell us it was located on Earth, either. A sinless place, Adam and Eve being cast out onto a place where there IS sin. Makes a good amount of sense when you think about it.
I've read theories that the Garden of Eden was located in what is now Wisconsin, and that it was actually a large celestial spaceship that crash landed. -

She's All That. Wow, the 90's just don't seem quite as cool when you see them through the teen movie hindsight prism.
