    CALLING ALL ARTISTS (visual creative works only, please)

    Me and a bunch of other people are considering having a large booth at the next RIS (Dec. 2012) showcasing new art, including some new styles of calligraphy and contemporary moves in this field. We're planning on making it pretty nice including digital signage in the background. Some of us will be selling our works, while others will just be using it as a showcase for our passion as well as moving teh conversation along from the stagnating artwork styles that have been stuck in a rut for like, oh ... a millennia or two?

  2. Horribly stupid encounters of the 3rd kind

    I am genuinely bewildered by this. And I feel really sorry for the girl.

    I'm driving down a one-lane ramp and this dude in a Civic coupe is totally right on my as$, tailgating me like crazy. So as soon as the ramp became two lanes I moved over one lane and let him have some breathing space. Okay. So we come to a red light. And at the light he's revving his puny little piece of $hit engine. For what? To impress his chick? I turn and look at him and I was shaking my head uttering the word "what?" like Don Draper at his best.

    And then the light turns green, we both move forward and this guy is trying to take me on. (I drive a 4.5L V8 BMW sedan) And I was just perplexed. My car is debadged, but you still know what a 5-series is. Was this guy really THAT stupid? Is he on crack? I mean I've seen boys do some crazy things to impress a chick but this was so deep into the realm of embarrassing behavior that I'd be surprised if he could even look her in the eyes again.

    What the hell? Since when do puny purple poodles take on sexy savage silver panthers? So what could I do? I got him familiarized with the term a$s-phalt, silver platter and all.

    it's not that I've forgotten it, but I just don't use it often. i'm always thinking in English and that doesn't translate well when I try to read Urdu. :P
