Does Anyone Here Like Old Indian Movies?
Thread for discussion of OLD Indian movies.
And anyone who thinks "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" is an old movie and posts accordingly will be stabbed.

I do. For awhile, my dad was obsessed with watching old Indian films, and sometimes, I'd sit and join him. My favorite is Gumraah (Sunil Dutt, Mala Sinha). The soundtrack is beautiful and the story was good.
I also like any of the old Mughlai-themed ones: Mughal-e-Azam, Anarkali, Taj Mahal.
Oh, and my all time favorite is from the 1970s: Pakistan's version of Heer Ranjha. It was a Punjabi film and just so campy. Love it!

Re: Does Anyone Here Like Old Indian Movies?
I used to watch old Indian movies with my dad and mom. These are some of them I can think of on the top of my head:
Gol Maal - The original
Boot polish - was amazing!
Don - The original. not the one with SRK (Chi chi...what a bandar)
Mughal-e-Azam - Even though there were parts my cuz had to translate for me.
Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi - Whose story line was stolen millions of times by other bollywood films
And I know its not a indian movie, but definitely hilarious: Bakra Kishto Pe

Boot polish is a pretty sad story about 2 little kids who lose their parents and ended up living with their abusive aunt. She makes them beg on the street, but they dont want to so they polish people's boots for a living. Its a sad (but really good) story.
