im watching jhoom barabar jhoom.

well, i just started. it's in the other window..im waiting for the title song to be over.. it sounds ok. would be off the wall if remixed

edit: are they dancing in a freakin mall?????????? oh, and amitabh looks soooo gay in that song..dancing..and what's with that random feather?..uff..the only bollywood actor i found tolerable is now gay. actually, he was really haram in KANK.. so that killed it for me then.

I saw Taare Zameen Par (review in the Aamir Khan Thread ) and Dus Kahaniyaan. Dus Kahaniyaan is just 10 different short movies. Its actually pretty good, no dance sequence to worry about, and it keeps your attention. They all have either a moral or a twist (or both) and if you grew up with R.L.Stein books and Scary Stories to tell in the dark, you should be able to guess most of the twists.

BTW, I had to skip through one of the stories because it was very haraam pana...but I was laughing because the girl was licking someones hand straight up Islamica style (remember those days?)

Taare Zameen Par

Just finished watching it and it was beautiful. Aamir has yet again lived up to his title of being a perfectionist as an actor first and now a director

The whole story was brilliantly written and beatifully directed. Each scene was alive with colors and emotions......not once did I feel bored or confused. Everything just fell into place

Aamir's supreme acting in the second half was mind blowing and Darsheel's (little kid) acting was par excellence!! Both of them have done a great job!

Songs were also a plus point, especially the title song and 'Maa' with a beautiful melody

This movie is for everyone --- no age bar. I recommend everyone go watch it at least once......you won't be disappointed!!

My reaction throughout the movie:

so i decided to watch a bollywood movie after almost a decade. well i really had no choice. i watched Mangal Pandey because of my interest into the 1857 mutiny and there are no western movies about the subject. it was a good movie over all. the movie in itself was not about the 1857 mutiny, but the events that led upto it, and the death of the mughal empire. it was a low budget movie though, kinda reminded me of those chinese language kung fu movies out of hong kong, especially jet li's "once upon a time in China". and i had to skip through those stupid songs too. But its good that amir khan and bollywood decided to make a movie like this. While the rebelliion itself was largely led by Muslims, who rallied behind the throne of the last mughal emperor, bahadur Shah Zafar, showing a hindu character as the spark that ignited the rebellion is important and ill tell you why. Given the hindu fascists rise to power in India, and the anti-Muslim bigotry that exists, particularly in the state of Gujarat, i think its important that hindus are told of a time when Hindus and Muslims fought side by side against British Colonial rule.
