yeah, but only coz either a) you're not allowed to and/or b) you'd have no clue where to go

the last indian movie i went to in the theater (reluctantly) was like a year ago. i regretted that & haven't seen another one since. probably won't for a long time, until i need another reminder of how horrible they are. i used to go to indian movies in the theater maybe once or twice in a year. if you're questioning the sincerity of my reluctance, note that i never created any breathless excited posts about how awesome the movie and actors were after. my dislike of new indian movies is pretty well documented.,

actually..not quite..my cousins go to indian movie theaters all the time..and always ask me to come..i never went because *i* didn't want to. my mom isnt the biggest fan of them but she wouldnt hold me down and be like YOU CANT GO. i just used to never be interested in them. ive only been watching them recently and i still dont think they're worth going to the theater for bc they do have besharamness which you can easily forward if you're watching at home
and the movies that i do watch havent been as besharam as movies like dhoom and stuff at all. the really out there ones are a major turn off plus they generally have sucky plots.
im not questioning the sincerity of your reluctance and if i did then i apologize but you should stop making assumptions about my taste in indian movies or implying that i only watch the besharam ones..it's offensive. the only ones ive watched all the way through that i liked and that i can remember had one of those cute/shy old time type stories and close to no besharamness..sue a girl for being into chick flick type movies.

Re: Does Anyone Here Like Indian Movies? :)
i'd have to say the worst thing about new indian movies is the way they portray muslims, and how everything is so freaking hindu. result of chhota rajan (hindu gangster) + bal thackeray's influence on bollywood. when the muslim mafia ran things from the 50s-80s, things were very, very different. bollywood had much more 'muslim' influence back in the day. there were a good # of movies made with muslim protagonists.
nowadays muslims are portrayed as a) servants, b) terrorists, c) a female muslim who is a hindu or sikh guy's love interest d) the "good" muslim who fights the "bad muslims" for the sake of his "bharat." freaking disgusting. i refuse to watch that crap.

i'm not making any assumptions, you've openly stated your preferences

i based my statements toward you off the movies you stated you liked & was comparing those films to the older films i prefer, which you criticized.. i'd be comfortable watching pretty any dilip kumar or 1970s amitabh flick with my parents. can you say the same about newer movies? no chance.
edit: to clarify, my post about besharamness in new indian movies wasn't directed toward you, it was just a continuation of my complaints regarding new indian movies
also, in regards to the criticisms of older songs/singers, the most famous/successful singers in bollywood right now became successful imitating mohd rafi & kishore kumar (sonu nigam and kumar sanu, respectively). udit narayan is a very good singer imo.. & he also started off singing with and learning from mohd. rafi (who was his hero), years before he made the qayamat se qayamat tak hits

The ending was a quick bit, but I thought it all made sense with the way the director told the story
