- remember the episode where desmond turns the failsafe underneath the hatch and then goes back in time? he tries to buy a ring for penny, but is told by mrs. hawking (the jewelry store owner) that he's not supposed to buy it and it's his destiny to go to the island and turn the failsafe or else "every single one of us is dead."
- also note that ben and locke have both said that if the freighter people come to the island, then "every one on this island will die"
hm. i wonder if/how they're related.
sigh. i hate/love this show.
