Re: The Kingdom
One of my friends at the Mosque wants to see it, but he said that he was there when that happened and that what you see in the movie is completely made up.
None the less, I don't know if I'll see it.

I heard that the hero of the movie is a Saudi police officer.

Re: The Kingdom
I have no interest in seeing it, looks to be a crappy movie.
And I hate it when they feel compelled to randomly show Muslims praying in the movie trailer.

I don't think the movie's claiming to portray that incident, I think it says it's loosely based on real events.

Yeh... I kind of feel like we're supposed to be thinking "oooh, exotic"
corny does about sum it up. I can barely sit through any action-ish movie these days without rolling my eyes.

There's a massacre at some American compound in Saudi, and it's about the following joint investigation I think. It's supposed to mirror some event that actually happened a few years back.

I saw it..it aint anti-Islamic or anything. In fact, the hero of the movie is a Saudi police officer.

Re: The Kingdom
My family wants to watch it tonight. It's either that or "A mighty Heart", which is about the Daniel Pearl story.
I feel so awkward right now.

Re: The Kingdom
Well, I just saw the Kingdom. It really wasn't a bad movie. And it had a powerful ending too.
And while it showed Muslim terrorists, and also had some good Muslims in it and didn't show Islam in the worst of light.
