Re: Movies Watched Recently
I saw Swades. I know, I'm 10 years too late.
It wasn't all that great. Was that supposed to be development he was doing?

Eh, I dunno. It was okay, I guess. Kinda dumb. I felt like the movie tried to take this omnibus approach and touch on everything (poverty, illiteracy, child marriage, issues of gender and caste), but didn't really end up discussing any of the issues. And yeah, all the issues are connected, I got that, but really, it didn't do justice to any of them.
And then after showing us all those problems... he ends up making electricity for the village. But really, the only reason he can do that in the first place anyway is 'cause he's wealthy. So how's he going to make a living in rural India? If he takes a job in his field in the city, are he and the girl going to end up in a long-distance relationship? Her job is in the village. And I never saw him get clearance from anybody to do what he did. How do you just go to a foreign country and start building infrastructure? And how does he do all of it in a week?!
Everybody said the movie was so good. I thought it was going to be about revolution. Like Ajay Devgan in that other movie, you know? Yuva.
Some good songs though and I can't hate it completely 'cause Shahrukh was so pretty in it. The end.

It was creepy and kinda good. The mushy scenes between Mulder and Scully were awkward, I never knew they were "involved" or that they had a kid . Anyway, it was nice to watch it cuz I used to be an X-Files fan when I was younger

Re: Movies Watched Recently
The Hours. I didn't quite understand it and it was kind of an odd movie. Only after watching it did I look up a lot of the story behind it (Woolf's bio etc). One of these days I'll have to watch it again to understand it better..

Becoming Jane - I really liked the movie, but the ending was too much bittersweet and heart wrenching for me. I wept
