I can't understand why people watch movies. I always leave the theatre feeling empty and depressed like there's no hope in life anymore. Sorta like what Dementors do to Harry Potter donchaknow

Because people love being transported to a different, imaginary world. For at least 2-3 hrs. they can forget the reality and their problems in life to enjoy the other world and the stories that come along with it

Its the same concept as reading a book, but more visual with characters and story plots coming to life

Books are usually much better than their movie counterparts, with some exceptions. They're more detailed and leave the reader to imagine things their way, so you're satisfied

or maybe that's just because i keep watching spanish films. if those movies are at all accurate, spaniards seem to have their clothes off more often than on.

The western world has always taken that path more than others and with ease

ok so a few i've watched recently..

1. dirty dancing havana nights (1987)
2. the other boleyn girl (just watched it less than an hour ago). It was okay, sad at the end, but the book was better.
3. Into the wild. Oh...my...GOD.
4. the departed. confusing in the beginning but good, ill have to watch it again to let it sink in more but somehow i have no desire to.

Next on the list inshallah: good will hunting, I am sam and sydney white (w/ amanda bynes)
