Amores Perros

beautiful in a twisted, brutal way. sure lives up to its name.
if you want to see the essence of the movie, look up "Cafe Tacuba- Avientame" on youtube. i would post the link, but it starts off a little... um... racy. so search at your own risk
if you liked Babel or 21 Grams, you might like this one-- they're directed by the same guy. I have yet to see 21 Grams, but Amores Perros was way better than Babel.

PS: gael garcía bernal,

La Mala Educación (Bad Education)

i love almodóvar's films, but i didnt like this one as much as the others i've seen. i will say gael garcía bernal's performance was impressive. not only did he manage to play four incredibly difficult characters (including two drag queens)-- but he did this all while masking his mexican accent. and somehow in the process, he learned how to run in high heels.
