Well.. holdon, I wouldn't go so far as to criticize the food (this is an area in which I have some expertise ). The food in LV is pretty good.. the Bellagio's breakfast buffet is awesome, as are all the restaurants in the Bellagio. The steakhouses are pretty good - Palm at the Caesar, Smith & Wollensky's, Prime, etc etc.. there's a Nobu for sushi, Peppermill or Bally's for brunch, etc. Mr. Lucky's at the Hard Rock is decent if you're up late.

But yeah, Vegas is mostly a tacky cesspool catering to the vile excesses of the lowest common denominator. It's full of a) fat white midwesterners vacationing with their families b) annoying college kids who think they know how to play cards ("whoo!! las vegas, whoo!!"), and c) prostitutes/women dressed like prostitutes. All of the above are mostly drunk.

Plus, it's too damn hot.

All excellent place to grub. I also like the MGM buffet, Main street buffet, and Jimmy buffet's margaritaville, which has an EXCELLENT steak dinner.

Not true at all, and most of them are in their hotels by sundown anyway.

Once again, an assumption and a stereotype. Just because you have been solicited by a couple of hookers because of your less than stellar looks and being a tubster doesnt make that statement true, although I would agree that during the summer time there are alot of scantily clad women, but no more than at the beach in San Diego or the like.

That is completely irrelevant. Everywhere is A/C'ed, and you dont have to go out in the sun during the day. In fact, this time of year the weather is PERFECT, not hot, not cold.

I'd never go to Vegas for the food. There are plenty of great places to eat in this world without having to be in Vegas. But it doesn't surprise me that you like/are impressed by the place.

I don't see how that's relevant since I never claimed to know how to play any card games. Although I do, so your statement is false. I never played at any tables with college kids anyway (they're usually at the lowest minimum tables).

How is it an assumption or a stereotype to say Vegas is full of prostitutes and/or women dressed like prostitutes?

Why would hookers solicit anyone because of their physical appearance? Hookers solicit you if you look like you have cash, or if you look drunk, or both. They don't solicit you because you're ugly. And in Vegas, they don't solicit you much at all (it's illegal in Clark County). Also, I haven't been to Vegas in a non-professional capacity in a while, and I only got old and fat recently.

That would be a good point, except India and Pakistan don't advertise themselves as dens of sin and aren't vacation destinations for those looking to engage in it. Bad stuff happens everywhere, but cesspools are the places where it goes on openly and is accepted, glorified, and advertised.

I'm sure when you go to Vegas, watching the Blue Man Group and "O" are the foremost things on your mind.. Nobody goes to Vegas for the shows. The tickets to most of them are given away free. The only other reason to go to Las Vegas is for a fight.

I will say that Atlantic City is a lot nastier than Vegas, though. Vegas at least attempts to have family-oriented entertainment options. AC is just straight no frills down & dirty. Crappy place.

Y'all know way too much about prostitution in Vegas.

I saw Highlander #1 for the first time... everyone was saying "yeh, that's the good one" and I thought "...really?"

It depends on whether you're normal if you like it I did like it, i thought it was brill on how ironic it was, gruesome and comical at the same time and displayed cannibalism in a somewhat different light.
