i was thinking about the namesake yesterday, about how it's so rare to see actors smoke whilst they're acting, did you notice?

Period pieces usually have alot of smoking because people didnt know the effects of tobacco, so it was more common for people to chain smoke.

watched alot of movies this weekend

Vantage Point- I thought it was corny and pretty dumb. it was a 24 knock-off so fans of 24 might like it

beowulf- sucked. Beowulf is one of my favorite stories and this movie totally mangled it. it was lame in its own right too... crap movie but the animation was pretty cool at times

Be Kind Rewind- Awesome movie. Very funny and original. classic, and especially great for movie fans

When a Stranger Calls- garbage movie starring a very lovely new actress

30 Days of Night- pretty dumb but it had some pretty cool moments. nice, short run time

Hmm, it bought up a vital issue, such as that tobacco might be bad but it's the choice to smoke it that is the issue, not the fact that it is supplied.

It was ok, quite funny in places, it's mostly about a guy who has excellent public speaking skills. Worth watching, not worth watching twice

hmm.. you know, i didn't like it at first but that's because i killed it for myself by reading the ending online. that's probably why i felt like it dragged, my own fault. but now that i think about it, it was pretty good. it confused me a little because it jumped around a lot but in the end it all makes sense. i think i'll probably watch it again. i saw it with my husband the first time around and he's more into fast action packed stuff with lots of fighting and explosions, definitely not his kind of movie. oh and james mcavoy

oh and i never did get back on track.. haha

Just saw Beowulf on Friday. That movie was creepy and scary in some parts. I watch it, and I just don't feel safe.

And no way should that have been PG-13. Angelina Jolie and Beowulf are completely naked and it shows full frontal and backs. And it's brutally violent. One guy gets his head bitten off by Grendall and you see Grendall chewing the head and you hear the crunching noises and everything. Other people are ripped to pieces and impaled on various objects and blood spills and sprays.

But yeah, very good movie.

I wonder if Beowolf is based on Seamus Heaney's translation of the poem?

i think so, you can check it out in wikipedia. but let me say that both beowulf and 30 days of night were fantastic movies, and i enjoyed watching them for free online long before thier dvd release.

Default Re: Movies Watched Recently

since the spike channel ran thier james bond movie marathon back during the christmas holidays, i have decided to watch the entire james bond movie series.

And Guy's you wanna meet a chic? just think james bond, and ask yourself 'what would bond do?" cuz chics loooove james bond. I know alot of you dorks are gonna get angry at me for writing that (especially you dorky fanatical mullahs who are gonna marry your cousins anyways) but thats my suggestion - take it or leave it.

My favorite so far has to be The Spy Who Loved Me. I loved how bond handled that russian 'agent triple x' (LOL i think ill call my wife that someday) death threat to kill him for the killing of her lover by bond. He handled it smooth, even taunting her about it at times "you still plan on killing me?".

so far to date, below is a list of all the james bond movies i have watched since the spike channel marathon:

Dr.No
From Russia With Love
Goldfinger
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Live And Let Die
The Man With The Golden Gun
The Spy Who Loved Me
Moonraker
For Your Eyes Only (darling har har)
Octopussy
A View to a Kill
The Living Daylights
Licence to Kill
GoldenEye
The World Is Not Enough
Die Another Day

so that leaves three maybe four bond movies left to watch. cant wait for Quantam of Solace to come out later this year YA!!
