due to a recent epidemic of spambots, we're going to temporarily switch all new user registrations to require manual admin approval. this means that when you register a new account, you will first be sent an e-mail to the address you provided during registration that contains a link which you must click to confirm your account. after this, you will then have to be manually approved by an admin before you can post on the forum.

admin approval should happen within a day, so please be patient with us. note that this only applies to new members from today onward.

this is just a temporary measure. in the near future, azher will be back with details of some exciting changes to the site :)

no, i'm not sure if this forum software has that option. i'll have to dig around and see. but in any case, restricting registrations should help significantly reduce the spam for now.

interestingly, a spammer gave me negative rep for my previous post

edit: and for this one too. what morons

The spammers must be getting a little shaky. Positive reps all around!
I'm sorry if my insensitivity toward your beliefs offends you. But guess what - your religious wars, jihads, crusades, inquisitions, censoring of free speech, brainwashing of children, murdering of albinos, forcing girls into underage marriages, female genital mutilation, stoning, pederasty, homophobia, and rejection of science and reason offend ME. So I guess we're even.
