Smoking toddler gives up habit
Remember the smoking toddler? Back in May, the Mommy Files reported on the shocking and sad story of a 2-year-old Indonesian child who puffed on some 40 cigarettes a day.
Turns out there's a happy ending to this story: Ardi Rizal has kicked the habit.
"He has quit smoking and the most important thing is he doesn't ask for cigarettes anymore," national commission for child protection secretary-general Arist Merdeka Sirait told AFP.
The boy and his mother left his village on Sumatra island in July to undergo treatment in the capital of Jakarta.
"He received psychosocial therapy for one month, during which therapists kept him busy with activities and encouraged him to play with kids of the same age," Sirait said.
"We diverted his addiction from cigarettes to playing."
A reporter spotted the smoking toddler in the fishing village of Musi Banyuasin, in Indonesia's South Sumatra province, and took video footage. The boy threw violent tantrums if he couldn't have a cigarette.
When news of the smoking toddler spread like wildfire on the Internet, the Indonesian government stepped in and helped get him treatment.

That is such a disturbing image. Its almost like it should be special effects or something.
And thats a hella fat kid. Those parents really really need to start giving a crap about his health or he's just going to be another sad case of child diabetes due to poor diet choices and child obesity.

Ah, quitting smoking isn't that big of a deal. It's easy. I know because I've done it thousands of times myself.
Baron is back! And he's bringing an overdose of his classic voodoo medicine for all of Islamica's lemmings!
