Saudi man, 28, accused of raping and robbing New York man, 69, rejects plea deal

Saudi national accused of the brutal rape and robbery of an older man he picked up at a Manhattan nightclub turned down a plea deal Wednesday.
That means Naief Al-Mateiry, 28, is headed to trial and faces a possible 25-year sentenCe on charges of burglary, kidnapping and aggravated sex abuse for allegedly attacking a 69-year-old man in February 2009.
Al-Mateiry is being represented by three high-powered lawyers, and the Saudi government tried unsuccessfully to bail him out. A judge ordered him held at Rikers.
Prosecutors say Al-Mateiry was invited back to the victim's W. 99th St. apartment, where he beat him with a hanger, stole $60 and three watches, and raped him twice.
In between the assaults, the defendant allegedly forced the man to go to an ATM machine and take out more than $1,000.
"If you go to the police or [the] club again you're done," the alleged thug threatened his victim, according to documents.
"I know where you live. I'll hurt you."

25 years!?!?! Thats it!?!

That man should get life for how he treated him. Better yet, send his butt back to Saudi and let them deal with him there.

I hate rape. Nothing enrages me more than violating someones body like that. You not only physically hurt someone when you rape them but you emotionally, mentally, spiritually hurt them and sometimes it hurts beyond repair. I just watched a show about a beautiful woman who got raped and beaten and now she feels like she has ZERO self worth. It broke my heart. People who rape other people are evil. Pure evil.

^ it seems he was a rich saudi guy because he had 3 powerful lawyers withhim, and thats why saudi govenrment tried to bail him out, he could be even from the royal family or some powerful family in saudi arabia. In that case i dont think saudi government would do anything to him.

Why did the Saudi guy rape another guy? :sister:

Seriously, whenever I hear about men raping other men (whether it's in prisons, assaults, robberies, etc), I have to wonder if the criminal is gay or something.
Normal is an illusion. What is normal for the spider is chaos for the fly.

Well either way this man isnt going to get off easy. Whether he's stuck here in a US prison for 25 years (probably getting violated by other prisoners too) or he's sent off to Saudi where he wont face punishment but either way he has to answer for what he did on Judgement Day and that elderly man gets to face him and put him down for what he did. Saudi may be easy on their rich criminals but Allah is not. And I'd fear Allahs punishment way more than I'd fear the USA's or Saudis punishment.

Ive heard this too. I wonder why that is.

I almost wonder if a lot of it has to do with the severity of how Saudi Arabia segregates males and females. Males really dont have any interaction with females outside of relatives so they spend all their freetime with other men.

idk... who knows

^ yup you got it right, segregation plays a major role. When guys in their teens or older never get to see girls or meet girls, homosexuality comes in. Same is true for Afghanistan.

i went to highschool there and the guys their were so desperate, like committing homosexual acts on each other was a normal thing there. A lot of these guys weren't probably even gay but out of desperation they commit these acts.

So that explains your homosexual tendencies quite well.

"God will never change the condition of a people until they change that which is within themselves."
The Holy Quran, 13:11

The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: "Religion is very easy, and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way. So you should not be extremists, but try to be near to perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded."

Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 1, Hadith 38
