i think girls could be funnier than guys if they wanted to. but we spend more time feeling insecure about ourselves and bashing on other people to try. oh and trying to look pretty too.

Guys don't appreciate women who are funny. They want us laughing at their jokes and feel threatened if our jokes are better. Why? Who the heck knows. I'd think that a guy would want a woman who can make him laugh, especially on those days when he's had a ton of crap dumped on him.

guys are funny because they fart more, and farts are funny. Girls don't fart, so they aren't funny.

maybe that's why fat girls are funnier? they gave up on the looks department, so who cares about the other stuff.

I think its a social norm for men to be funny and not for women to be. Funny men are all over the place but when you see a funny girl, a lot of times, she is seen with more masculine attributes. I see a lot of this mostly in schools. When you hear "class clown" you think of the guy who is really funny but rarely you think of a girl.

Besides, a lot of things that are funny are funny because they have a little offense to them, a little shock value, a little inappropriate, etc. Think of the majority of jokes you know: chances are most of them are funny because of the reasons posted above. Women are not socialized to be that way. Women are not supossed to be crude or offensive or shocking. Thats usually a man thing.

So I dont think its men that are funnier than women. I think its socially acceptable for men to be funny in PUBLIC and not for women to be.
