Is there a lo-fi or PDA version of the site? I think you should work on something like that or a Blackberry or Iphone app

Can't you do that anyway? I posted on Islamica from an iPhone once....
What kind of peace do I mean and what kind of a peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war.... not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women -- not merely peace in our time, but peace in all time.

1-Pie and ice cream!

2-Don't change the name. It has widespread recognition, and changing it might only confuse people.

3-Here's an out-there idea, but perhaps some kind of video journal section? Or do we already have that and I just don't realize it?

4-I do miss Islamica News. Like Purple Alien up there, that was my entry door.

5-Job listings are important and indispensable resources in the current time. Charity listings and volunteer listings would be useful too. Online forums are basically networking sites, so perhaps the occasional Islamica convention where groups of Islamicans meet someplace? A long shot, I know, but worth a suggestion.

I'm still coming here because I like learning about different peoples' ideas, worldviews, and interpretations of Islam. I like the friends I've made here - I've become very bonded with a few and have even spoken to a couple, and I'm friends on Facebook with a few. Islam really isn't a big part of me anymore, but Islamica very much is.
I'm sorry if my insensitivity toward your beliefs offends you. But guess what - your religious wars, jihads, crusades, inquisitions, censoring of free speech, brainwashing of children, murdering of albinos, forcing girls into underage marriages, female genital mutilation, stoning, pederasty, homophobia, and rejection of science and reason offend ME. So I guess we're even.

The word As-shams (the sun) is feminine, and Qamar (moon) is masculine. The sun burns itself to give light and life to everything around, and the moon is Muneer, meaning it reflects the light; it radiates the brilliance of the sun.
So when we shine as men, the implication is that we are reflecting the glorious light of our women.

By the way, I've read that T-Shirts are an extremely unprofitable business. Care to comment?

i don't think we were in the t-shirt business. we were in the apparel business. while we started off with $5 tees, we never really saw ourselves as a "$5 shirt" company. our customer was one that wanted quality and was willing to pay for it....and i still smile anytime someone mentions their favorite 10-year old t-shirt is still holding up. :tasty:

good suggestions....still not seeing a compelling reason to change things significantly. i'll leave this an open topic for a few more weeks and see what shakes up.

ooh....maybe i'll send an e-mail to the member database...haven't done that in a while. :brother:

i love the idea of the recipe catalogue! i think one thing we all agree on is that, food is good. since theres quite a few active cooking/healthy threads, it'd be great to make it easier to search for specific foods. and the recipes could be rated on their healthiness.

GO ISLAMICA.

ok i'm still hyped because of the hockey final. which ended a while ago...

Why is your avatar Domo-kun?
I don't even get how people outside of Japan know about this character...cuz he appears on Japanese TV and farts when he's angry. Didn't know he was known outside of Japan,.

How about some community work?

www.muslimcancersupport.net

Our project is community based - helping make the life of women (Muslim women in particular) be a little better while being treated for cancer. Maybe we can co-something for Muslim Cancer Support? We work with junction49 and Kingston University. Yay or Nay? Let me know if we can work together. I have lots of ideas... :flower:
