This is not the first strange thing Sheikh al-Munajid has said. He is the same man who once issued a fatwa against Mickey Mouse. And when Western and Arab media ridiculed him for it, he defended himself by insisting that "the real issue being discussed was the harmful rodent ‘the mouse,' not Mickey."

Rambo said:

Whereas the women of this world may suffer, for days and nights, from menstruation, from blood for 40 days after childbirth, from vaginal bleeding and from diseases -- the women of Paradise are pure, unblemished, menstruation-free, free of feces, urine, phlegm, children...

Rambo said:

Moreover, Allah cleaned them of all impure and foul things, both in appearance and character. In character, they are not jealous, hateful, or angry. They are not greedy.

Rambo said:

They are restricted to tents, locked up for the husband. There is no such thing as going out. When he comes home - they are there. There is no such thing in Paradise as a man coming home and not finding his wife there. Allah described them as women who lower their gaze, and never look at anybody but their husband.

 wow insecure much?

But today, people's eyes roam freely. The Internet... The people of this world... There is a big difference when it comes to deriving pleasure. In this world, men work hard and tire themselves out in order to derive pleasure. The Prophet Muhammad says that in Paradise, a man gets the strength of 100 men when it comes to eating, drinking, passion and sex.

This guy makes heaven look like a glutton and a sex maniacs paradise. Very insulting.

No kidding. That's what's retarded about Saudi. They banned physical education for girls there, even though the schooling for girls is completely segregated. Add to that the fact that the average woman in Saudi watches 8 hours of tv a day (according to a johnson and johnson survey), you've got a recipe for physical inactivity and obesity, which is rising there too.

those women need to move to Jeddah.

As for club hopping, they are non-alcoholic clubs. haha. Girl hookah bars, girl stuff going on all over the place in Jeddah.

I just want to go to Jeddah to eat at Al Baik. Thats it.

Thats totally what I thought. I thought of a bunch of dudes chilling around a table eating and drinking and then saying "A'ight lads. Going back to my tent where my wimmins are locked up."

People are taking it too literally. Heaven is what you want it to be. To some hormonal unmarried teenager, that means a paradise of sexy beautiful women. To an elderly man whose wife just died, it could mean the companionship of his lost love. It's Paradise, and everyone's idea of paradise is different.

Im not disputing that, im just quoting what this guy said that was a bit ridiculous.

I know, I'm just trying to answer Tanasi or other people who might take what this dude says, and take it to mean that in Islam there is a one size fits all afterlife which caters only to the sexual desires of young men.

Not to rain on the parade here, but what about women who enter paradise? Do they get perfect men for husbands?

yeah.....thats not really in my heaven either :-P

Sorry, but I find that to be disturbing. Women are not sex slaves. I also think devaluing women who are not virgins is really ridiculous.

ladies, ladies ... relax.

1.) Earthly women in Jannah will be more beautiful than than the Huur al-Ayn. So really, just chill out with the whole jealousy / inferiority complex. You don't need to be jealous, you'll be way more beautiful than them.

2.) The Huur are NOT bimbos, and the male servants are NOT gigolos. They have the role and capacity to be intellectual companions as well, but that's not my point. Jannah is beyond your understanding. So cut it out with all the umbrage and hostility. Its a place for peace and pleasure.

3.) The greatest pleasure any resident of Jannah will have is to actually be able to see God. So stop making it sound like its some desert dweller's fantasy of fountains and orgies.

You insult your ownselves when you stoop so low to talk about Paradise in such contemptuous terms.

So just shut the hell up.

I think you're reading too much into this whole thing. The women of paradise will not be sex-slaves. Do you realy think this is how Allah will reward pious women? Paradise is something we cannot fully comprehend, but I think it is the end of the road, the answer to all questions asked, contentment of the mind, heart, body and soul in a way that can never be achieved in this worldly life and maybe, real paradise is being in the company of Allah.

I think what mossad was saying was that you can't see white girls' bone marrow, because that's how transparent they are according to those accounts

sorry i know this is slightly off topic, but your post reminded me of something. recently i took Nouman Ali Khan's latest class on Divine Speech. he explained a thought on the whole thing about why Allah talks about the hoor in jannah and gives descriptions that seem to favor men. im paraphrasing, but he told a story about a scholar he knew. the scholar had asked his sons about what they would desire most if they could have anything, and the answer was predictably obvious. when he asked his daughters, their response was "well, it depends...".

one interpretation of the wisdom behind what Allah mentions in the quran is that its plain and simple for men to understand. but He is less explicit about what women will have, simply because theres not necessarily one simple answer for them. and He would know, as He created us that way. but every other indication that we have, as thejellymill alluded to, is that ultimately every soul will be judged according to its deeds, not by gender or any other criteria.

To repeat myself, I doubt that Paradise will be what anyone expects and that we'll see people wenever thought would make it and will notice that there are many absent we were so sure would be there.

As for women and salvation, why is it that so many religions make it so hard for women to meet the requirements? Islam, Christianity, and Judaism- the Abrahamic faiths- all seem to raise more hurdles for women than they do for men.

I have never doubted the fairness of God. But religions are run by people(most often men) and I often see absolutely no fairness therein.

" ‘There is no such thing in Paradise as a man coming home and not finding his wife there. Allah described them as women who lower their gaze, and never look at anybody but their husband.'
A Saudi cleric named Sheikh Muhammad al-Munajid has promised on Saudi TV that the virgins we Muslims will get in paradise will be white. If you blow yourself up in a martyrdom operation, you'll be rewarded with 72 pure women, and not one of them will be black or Indian, or even Arab or Iranian. " End Quote from Islamica website. Sorry that the quoted post is not in a little box. Next follows my post on this blog.

Matthew 22:29-30 "Jesus answered and said to them, "You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven. "

In other words there is no sex for martyrs after death. While on earth better stop blowing up people, marry, and stay home.

The focus on men's rewards really really used to bother me when I was younger, and even scholarly speeches like "rewards for women in Jannah" never gave a satisfactory answer in my opinion (mountains of pearls and jewels are not my ultimate desire :brother:). I posted the following ramble (below in quotes) on islamica once and saved it as a facebook note so I can read it over and over. It helped me kind of get rid of that "why does my husband get dozens of stupid hoor and I get him (or not, if I choose to dump him on the Day of Judgement) and a mountain of pearls?" complex.

Men and women are equal. Our souls are the same, but our outer "shell" simply looks different.

When the soul is removed from the body, do we have a gender/sex anymore? Isn't it only our physical bodies that are the cause of us being a "man" or "woman" or "transgender?" we all get angry, sad, feel happy, frustrated, hurt etc...inside we're basically all the same but are shaped by our physical/emotional/psychological experiences. Sooo in the end when we are all removed from our bodies will we still be male and female?

This leads to another related topic in my mind... that when the Qur'an talks of "hoor" in Paradise why are they always cast as women/wives? Maybe they are just beautiful beings, neither male or female as we know these things on earth. When we are dead and no longer have gender-specific bodies, male-female will no longer matter because those things only really exist as a mechanism for increasing the population. There is no drive to reproduce for a soulless body, right? This point really used to bug me...how men are promised this and that, but women are not. I realize now very clearly that this is all just a biased interpretation/misreading by men. Now I think I understand, and I don't feel so left out anymore (as a woman), subhanAllah and alhamdulillah.

Humans are one of the few, or only, species known to copulate for pleasure instead of just procreation. So really, they're not there just for increasing the population.

If guys will get white women in Paradise, will girls get black men? This is a serious question.
