It should be obvious that the light/dark dichotomy has potential connotations which have nothing to do with race. The only reason to *assume* that race was the motivator behind these particular associations is because you *want* it to be.

First of all, my post has nothing to do with calling Jews "white" or "non-white," it has to do with the absurd notion that all analogies involving the classic "light/dark" dichotomy necessarily are related to race -- which is what YOU claim above.

Second, yes, if a Jew is not white I don't have a problem with calling them not white. A lot of Jews -- especially in America -- are, however, white.

I think you cling too much to conspiracy theories. I also find your avatar offensive because of the swatiska. I acknowledge that Israel is virtually immune to international pressure because of US and this is because the Pro Israel lobby which includes right wing christians have invested a lot in defending Israel from legitimate criticism and using orgs like ADL, AIPAC and others to reward or punish politicians, your sweeping notion of jews control everything is far-fetched.

Even scholars who are considered pro-palestinian like Dr. Norman Finkelstein who lost his professorship at De Paul because of a pro israeli havard professor Dershowitz things its an absurd premise.

I have read Mersheimer and Walt's book the Israel lobby and as far as the influence that the pro israeli lobby has in US Irael relations its right on the ball but as far as their thesis of the pro israeli lobby controlling how US treats other issues in the middle east, Finkelstein says the evidence doesnt support that issue.
