How did I miss this thread?

I want to make my living as a writer. Doesn't really matter what kind as long as I get to travel a lot. A few sites have already posted some of my work, but it isn't paying the bills. It isn't paying me at all, for that matter.

Heh.

I told my mom yesterday that I want to be a writer/journalist and she said "That's great, but it's a hobby. Get a real job." :monkey:

 Story of my life.

I'm looking through the graduating students job postings at my school too, but... nothing for people with Arts degrees. :monkey: Yet. Career counsellors assure me there will be more later on.

I'm graduating later this (school) year, InshaAllah and applying for work. I decided I'll take anything I get (and kind of like). Receding economy + new grad with useless courses and no experience... can't be picky, right? :monkey:

what i really want to do is be an activist, a lawyer, someone who works to protect the rights of those without a voice whose rights have been taken away, or at least someone who can get the word out about the wrongs done to members on the lowest rungs of society. perhaps i should become a photographer or photojournalist, sometimes they get to do similar stuff...as in they get to travel and see these things firsthand, then they bring the stories to life through pictures in publications like NatGeo.

im winding down the first semester of senior year, i need to get my butt moving on job hunting.

if all else fails i'm going to beauty school :monkey:

Law people are crazy. Studying law would literally sizzle my mind.

Chemistry ftw!

The best thing about Chemistry = NO ESSAYS! w00t w00t! But a tonne of lab reports to do. In 3rd year, there was like 13 to do in 5 weeks

iA one more semester to get my MSci, then no more UNI 4 lyfe!!!!

May Allah (swt) make everything easy for those in their final year. Ameen.

I was thinking of being a university professor, but after reading all of rambo's threads I've decided to fight Indians instead.

hi. i do that. minus the lawyering - you don't need to be a lawyer to do any of that. unless you really just want to be a lawyer.

I'm honestly considering becoming a firefighter.
