lol to check your space got to my computer and right click on your C drive and choose properties. It should show you how much space you have free as well as how much is being used up.

They have some really expensive 250 gig drives as well so shop carefully otherwise you'll pay more than what you wanted to. I got mine on sale for like 59.99 @ bestbuy, but now it's like 90-100$.

Wassalaam

Assalam Alaykum,

I still have 54.2 gb left. And I've used up 30.5 gb.

Yeah, I just need to store all the files I have on my laptop and backup everything. Some of those lectures/PDF files and others took months downloading and the thought of loosing all of it gave me a scare. 60$ should be around 220 dhs over here, I think. Will keep the price thing in mind.

I should've backed up ages ago. This is the first time a virus infected my system.

Okay, My sound control icon doesn't appear in my taskbar anymore. It would before, but it doesnt anymore.

In the middle I tried this new download thing, make the startbar menu to look like Windows Vista. After I removed it, the sound control icon disappeared from my taskbar. Not sure if it was because of that though.

I've even gone to the control panel and checked the box which says 'Place volume icon in task bar', but it doesn't work. My Windows is XP.

Which vista transformation pack did you use and where in control panel did you check that option off?
Did you try to system restore back to before you installed that transformation pack?

My sound icon wasn't showing in the taskbar either, so I did the following and it appeared again. Go to the control panel and untick the 'Place volume icon in the taskbar' box. Then click on 'Apply'. Now tick the same box once again and click on 'Apply'. The icon should appear again.

Try emptying your temporary internet files. Tools -> Options and go on from there.

Asalamu Alaikum,

I have a Sony Vaio and it came with this huge sticker plastered on the inside saying "Play with Illumination: responds to your actions with unique illumination!"

What is that supposed to mean? Im going online trying to find out what its function is, but all im getting is ways to turn it off? Is this feauture useful or just a blinky blue button?

Fi AmanAllah
My God and my Lord; Eyes are at rest, the stars are setting. Hushed are the movements of the birds in their nests, of monsters in the sea; and You are the Just Who knows no change; the Equity that does not swerve, the Everlasting that never passes away. The doors of kings are locked now and guarded by their henchmen, but Your door is open to all who call upon You. My Lord, each loved is now alone with his beloved. And I am alone with Thee.

sorry to state the obvious, but have you checked the volume settings in windows already? open them up... the important ones are "master" and "wave"... try setting both of those to about 2/3 of full and see if it helps. also make sure the "mute" options are not checked on either of those.
