Bread and water should be good enough for Iftar since most of us are hungry enough to eat anything

You have iftar and then you have dinner afterwards? Arent Iftar and dinner sort of merged?

Iftar is usually the appetizer stuff ie pakoras, samosas, chaats, etc. Dinner would be the main course(s). A lot of people will break their fast with the iftar and go pray and chill for a while. Dinner is served a little later. That's how we've always done it anyway.

i've found that eating all that fried food for iftaar really makes me nauseous (last night was hell, i felt so awful). starving all day and eating after that long period makes me nauseous anyway, usually can't eat much for suhur either. so basically i'm going to stick to really light, simple stuff for suhur and iftaar iA and save the heavy stuff like rice for dinner (maybe).
vegetable sandwich
100-calorie wheat sandwich thin, toasted with some butter and shredded, dried basil
chopped veggies: tomato, bell pepper, cucumber, onion, avocado
> arrange the vegetables on one side of the sandwich thin, put the other side on top of it all and voila! sandwich
light pasta
boil some spaghetti noodles and 1/2 - 1 cup (or more, depending on how much pasta is used) of mixed frozen vegetables; add 1 chicken cube, some oil and a few cut up garlic cloves to the pan also
once the noodles are soft, drain into a colander and pick out the garlic pieces
put noodles and veggies back into the pan or into a dish and sprinkle with oregano and basil, olive oil (as sauce) and shredded parmesan. mix well!

chicken salad
leftover chicken works really well. chop up the chicken and add finely chopped onions, celery, apples, cucumbers, grapes, salt, pepper and a pinch of sugar. then add a bit of mayo and mix it up really well. you can also chop some avocados, tomatoes and lettuce to put on the chicken salad sandwich
instead of a sandwich, you can stuff some pillsbury crescent rolls with this stuff and wrap it up into little chicken pockets. takes about 5 minutes to prepare (if you make the chicken salad beforehand) and only 10 - 12 minutes to bake! i guess someone else had the idea too..

also, with your light pasta recipe, when you say "add 1 chicken cube, some oil and a few cut up garlic cloves to the pan also...once the noodles are soft, drain into a colander and pick out the garlic pieces" do you mean that you throw away the chicken broth at the end, once you drain the pasta? and i assume that you mean a bouillon cube, when you say "chicken cube"...or is it a piece of chicken? lol. lastly, do the veggies get mushy when you boil them, or do you add em towards the end?
