I dont know what to do anymore!

This nursing program is getting away with too much! Too many students are failing (literally like 80-90% failed todays exam)

they need to become more objective and change! These statistics are insane

Im gonna write a letter and complain, this sux :(

What were the reasons for the high failure rate?

a couple

1.miscommunication

2. two professors come up with the exam (25 ques each) and 1 says "know xyz" and the other say "you dont have to know xyz".

3.One of the prof who wrote it didnt do a good job of formulating the questions etc

Overall out of about 60 people only 4-5 passed and barely at that

In that case, you'll need to establish the significance of 'xyz' to the marks in the exam, was knowledge of 'xyz' a pervasive topic or relevant to only some of the questions?

I'd also suggest checking past exam papers to see whether the questions were formulated in a more comprehensible manner in the past.

That only 4-5 people out of 60 passed is rather astonishing as of course your nursing program already involves a pre-selection qualification stage, it suggests that there's more involved than lack of preparation.

Ay! The pleasures of picking and choosing majors and minors in American colleges, I envy you :-/

We have bachelor and master programs here, I suppose you do have some option within the bachelor programs and you can achieve a double bachelor and take a two-year master in one of your bachelors or something. But if you choose a master program, like I did, you're stuck for 5+years taking a course that is all laid up for you. Safe, some fun but oh so predictable.

....but then again, I like it predictable :monkey:

I have human biology, basic psychology, statistics and social medicine (?) this term. I can tell you what I'm going to take the fall of 2013 aswell :faint:

sigh...:( I had to go from 5 to just taking 1.

So now, the one and only class that I am enrolled in is titled "Feminism and Transnationalism" (Independent study) and I will be researching the feminist perspectives on the transnational practices of immigrant women. All I know so far is that it sounds interesting..

some of you are taking uber interesting classes. I'm kind of jealous.

HA....funny that my views of my classes totally change:

College Algebra (not that bad)
Comp (probably my favorite class out of the 4)
minorities (pretty fun but currently a little dull)
Nutrition (HELLA boring. The teacher is an ex-gym teacher and its a class full of jocks. All he does is rant all day long and call on the same jock boys that he knows from sports)
