how would you wrap that? I guess I could stare at it for awhile and find out. That would be a nice style for warm weather.

IrishMuslimah-- you would start with either an uncap or a hijab. If it's an uncap, just slide/tie it on. If it's a hijab, pin to the back and wrap in a bun. Your second piece [the floral design] you would start at one end, pin it under the bun. You can now take the long piece, wrap it around the bun a few times [depends on how long it is] then bring it to the front, and bring it across the chest and pin again under the bun. Very simple, very quick. :nerd:

That one is gone now :look: My hubs is going to order me a similar one though. I sort of wanted that one because the one Im getting now has too many designs in the sleeves so now I have to match it with specific color hijabs.

Oh well.

and THANK YOU Shadha :what: What a fun style. Im going to try it out when I get home.

would love to learn how to wear my hijab like this...

EDIT: Cant post links yet as I havent made 15 posts or more (although I did before the crash, just google 'loose qatari style hijab' if you're not sure what I mean..)

I ordered these

fromhttp://www.eastessence.com/index.php?p=home

to replace a plain black abaya I had in a similar but really boring style that is oddly enough too big

and

from http://www.alhediya.com/index.html
http://ep.yimg.com/c...ya_2104_3438040

http://ep.yimg.com/c...ya_2104_3467057

which replaces another abaya I have which is again, too big as odd as that sounds. Plus I wanted a button down for for like ever. And they make a custom skirt to go with it.

I know, not very stylish

i like the first one you posted, Chotoo. Satin makes everything look classier and turquoise is a flattering color on everyone. And the puckered sleeves are in these days, I've seen a lot of jackets with them :(

What's the quality like for EastEssence? I'm a bit wary ordering something so cheap, but it's so hard to find white abayas so I'm very tempted. They have a few that I'm thinking about ordering.

It feels like i haven't bought a scarf in a very long time. I have no idea where to find them. The last scarves i bought were from Next and Tie Rack. Brits- any suggestions off the 'highstreet' ?

M Butterfly have those springy scarves with bunches of grapes on them that you like. :(.

H&M has a few- plain pashminas, and patterned cotton ones that arent so big.

Sometimes you find the odd nice thing in TK Maxx.

thehijabshop.com for plain pashminas for £5.

Diya online/rani fashions sometimes have those same plain pashminas for £2, but not always. And you cant tell which ones which, they have different sorts with different qualities.

LOL, shut up about my scarf! I love it, the blue one. Yeah I saw those. Particurarlu enjoyed the 'muddy' brown one with the grapes things :(

JazakAllahkhair Sha, Im looking for plain, light, scarves

Do you mean really flimsy summery ones?

Theyre not quite as easy to find.

I have one nice patterned grey and black thin one from h&m from last year. I love it cuz its the one thin scarf I have thats actually quite big.

Actually I also have a pink one, a little smaller but fair size, from H&M thats like 4 years old lol.

I bought two thin ones from accessorize sale last summer. These are quite a bit smaller. Plain purple and Navy.

And the only place I ever found a lot of thin plain scarves is french market in Newport. (when they have the massive one down the highstreet, last few years they also have this other smaller food-only one in john frost square).

Me and my sisters bought blue, green, peach, grey, brown, and navy from there like 3 years ago.

The only thing is I just dont wear them a lot because they dont give me plenty of extra fabric to cover the chest. (or its workable if I wear an underscarf with my bun wrapped into the underscarf so that I dont have to layer up the main one as much (because theyre a little see through), leaving more for the front).

Otherwise go to manchester and go to Longsight market :(.

No, Longsight is not that good. Mostly shimmery/glittery scarves and I'm past that :(

The scarves you got sound lovely masha Allah. I think I'm just going to have to keep hunting. I'm quite strategic with my scarf pining, so a run of the mill scarf size will do.

Will keep an eye out and let you know. I have about 5 scarves that I wear right now...I've completely gone off the rest!
