They're basically little stomachs, so I feed them anything. Heck, I've fed the bottom one lizards and stuff.

Yeah, I've done it before. It feels all sticky and gooey in there (the digested remains of whatever is in the stomachs)

Aww, they are beautiful.
Here are my babies
my sugarsnap peas, they are a bit yellow, but that's because I recently moved them.
One of my sunflowers, it still hasn't blossomed
one of my successes, my basil
and thyme is a lovely plant

my umbellata has blossomed though, it started yesterday and it already smells wonderful. I'll try to post photos of it, insh'allah.

Woooooow your flowers are sooo pretty Moonstar. MashaAllah.
I've been growing herbs for awhile, but otherwise I can't get anything else to grow in this desert.

my weeping willow got completely knocked over during hurricane ike, but i refused to get rid of it. my dad and dug up and cut a few roots and basically pushed it back in as much as we could. its a bit slanted now, but i dont want to get another one and wait 7 more years for it to grow. iA the roots will get firm and the tree will live.
3 of my celosias survived. the others died
for those that dont know what a weeping willow is:
mine is about 25 feet high. we had to cut a lotttt of the branches to stabilize it.
and celosias are the purple flowering plants in the foreground:

i love the pious, though i am not from among them.

do you guys have any tips on plants/vegetables that can survive outside during cold autumns/mild winters. Or some nice plants that'll grow indoors?
my problem with indoor-planting, is that often the plants don't get enough light and I'd rather not take that over my energy consumption at home.
...and the fourth question (phew, sorry

pax- any flowering plant that's a perennial will survive the winter - roses, peonies, most lilies etc etc. Not sure about veggies but thyme grows even in the winter so you can use it all year round.
the spots are probably black spot if they're on roses: Black Spot (disease - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
