Alhamdulillah Tucker is out...maybe he can be out for the season, and then Sundin can convince Forsberg to come to Toronto...sigh.

Tucker is pretty good when healthy.. he was just missing Welly.. and was playing injuried...and maybe the new paycheck is getting to his head?!

Forsberg..are u kidding me? I think Kubina is gonna get traded.. Heard the Oil are interested.. so maybe Kubina for Stoll?

Congrats Hawks for getting home games back on tv! .. it would be shame to not be able to watch Kane and Towes on a gametogame basis!

nee wayss.. I was looking at stats today.. the Rangers only have 13 goals for... thats the lowest in the league! kinda surprising considering all that fire power. over-rated?!

I'm just dreaming about Forsberg lol...but Tucker has been horrible this year. Maybe he has been injured all year long, but he's been just dreadful. 5-on-5 he's easily the worst defensive player, and he's lost on the powerplay where he has no puck possession ability.

This injury is definitely addition by subtraction.

I heard the oiler rumours too, but I don't see them making another trade for another big defenseman...Souray is only out for a month anyways. But I think whatever the trade might be, we end up getting Robbie Schremp.

Yes and Drury and Gomez have been playing like they're over-paid and over-rated. I should know...I have drury on my fantasy team.

Kubina for Robbbiee Schremp!!!!! that would be awesome.i love that guy! he got a bad rep in jr. when he was with the ice dogs....but when he came to the knights he really shined....i dont think he fits in with the oil.. macT doesnt seem to like him.

I was sickened AGAIN when my other team lost to the Jacks. But that dissipated when I learned that Kane scored two goals in that game, and assisted on the other two! Four points in your ninth-ever NHL game when you're 18 years old. Wow, that's SICK.

I'm seriously jealous of Chicago :/ I really hope Jason Williams can finally blossom into a star (and not just be on a hot streak) in which case...you got yourself an awesome young core in Chicago.

Imagine a series of Pittsburg/Chicago finals.

if he was born 5 days earlier.. he would have been eligble. he whined and complained during the jr. summit series that the nhl should make an exception for him like the ohl did... although he didnt really impress during the series..

EDIT: right after posting this.. i saw this on sportsnet.ca

Quote:
Report: Leafs chasing Tavares

The Toronto Maple Leafs have offered teenage Ontario Hockey League phenom John Tavares a contract to play for the club's farm team, according to a report on the Globe and Mail's web site.

Tavares is currently playing for the Oshawa Generals of the OHL.

Much has been made of the fact he is not eligible for the NHL entry draft until 2009 because his Sept. 20, 1990 birthday is five days after the age deadline for the 2008 draft.

Tavares has asked the NHL to waive the Sept. 15 deadline for the 2008 draft.

According to the report, a source said Maple Leafs' general manager John Ferguson believes Tavares could play for the Toronto Marlies in the American Hockey League.

Under this scenario, Tavares would have to sign an AHL contract and would not be eligible to play in the NHL.

The report also indicated a NHL source said Ferguson recently contacted Tavares' agents, Brian McDonald and Bryan Deasley, and offered the young forward a contract for a minimum of three years.

The source said Ferguson has not received a response yet.

Ferguson declined to comment and neither of Tavares's agents commented in the report.

The report suggests that by offering a deal for at least three years or longer, Ferguson hopes to convince Tavares to remain Leaf property and opt out of the NHL draft.

Tavares could become an unrestricted free agent in 2011, when he turns 21, and sign an NHL contract with the Leafs.

Tavares scored 72 goals in 67 games for the Generals last season and has 15 in 12 games this season.
I hope JFJ did his homework before doing all this. there a rule that if a CHL team has your rights.. you cant play in the AHL until you turn 20?!

I could've picked him up as a free agent! Him and Antropov.

But stupid yahoo...it lists everyone as a Centre and I'm stacked at centre (Thornton, Lecavalier, Drury and Connolly).
