Re: The Official NBA Thread
Magic is 9.5 games behind the celtics. I was trying to hit up the magic/celtics game last month. Went to buy tickets and found out the game was in Boston But I'm going to the game next weekend (nose-bleed section zindabad!).
Speaking of the celtics, they're doing amazing, and if they win this season...they deserve it. However, I dont want to see them breaking the '95-'96 Bulls record.

celtics won't be breaking the bulls record. they'd have to finish like 40-4 from here on out and they still have to play some tough road games out west.
where are your seats for the celtics game? btw the rockets game turned out to be really good; magic got a horrible call at the end of the game... should have gone into OT.

yea, i'm gonna go with caribbean_pirate on this one. the celts are definitely having an amazing season, but, in all honesty, their schedule has been kinda easy thus far. hell, i almost feel like it was made relatively easy so they could be hyped up. they have 2 five game road trips in february and march (the march one is purely west conf). it's january, and they have yet to play phoenix, dallas OR san antonio; they're 1-1 against cleveland (2 more games to play) and 1-1 against detroit (one more game to play).
they're hype, and they're doing fantastic but i think they still got a lot to prove. at this point, they're doing exactly what a good team needs to be doing -- win the games you're supposed to win, play your a** off at the games against the better teams.
---
okay, i'll shut up now
so one of the reasons i ask about whether or not anyone is still into the nba at all is cuz a friend of mine wants to start up a joint (nba?) blog. we're looking for an angle that hasn't been hit by the 48930483902 other nba blogs online (which is tough since, between the 3 of us, we read just about all of them).
i have a few ideas, but i need to toss them off to people who like... aren't my friends. would you guys read me? anyone wanna join?

Re: The Official NBA Thread
i laughed so hard at this: Leandro Barbosa's Worst Nightmare - FanHouse - AOL Sports Blog
Quote:
How do you scare the living Hades out of Leandro Barbosa? Break his fibia? Tell him his dog ran away?
Nope.
Quote:
Suns guard Leandro Barbosa was fooled by a prankster Thursday with a phone call to his Beverly Hills hotel room.
"He told me to go to the front desk, because there was a message from (General Manager Steve Kerr) that I was traded to New York," said Barbosa, who was still shaken Friday. "It was bad."
|
"Traded to the Knicks?! Nooooooooo!!!" +20 to the Angeleno prankster who pulled this one off.

I can't believe Lewis beat the clock to win it against the Pistons. Awesome.

Adam's hopes and dreams - trade deadline edition:
1) The raps pick up a legitimate scoring 2/3 guard. A slasher. Enough of this pretending Anthony Parker/Joey Graham/Carlos Delfino/Juan Dixon/Jamario Moon are starting 2/3s crap.
2) Jason Kidd gets traded to the Lakers. Preferably for Odom, Farmar and a snickers bar.

Re: The Official NBA Thread
Pistons are the best. Their starters play half the game and they still win, while other teams play their starters 45 mins.
