lol iphone. Good phone... but definitely not worth it's price tag..

I have to give credit where it's due.. Apple are second to none when it comes to marketing... they could probably market baby poo as iSh*t.. and people would buy it.

I'm so excited, we're FINALLY ditching at&t/cingular and going with verizon! I HATE cingular and I hate Razrs. I wanted the new iPhone but good thing I waited, it's apparently got some problems according to the news. I hope I can get a Blackberry for cheaper with a verizon plan inshallah, anyone have any experience with them?

The problems were connection problems since so many people where trying to get activated all at once at the store. At home it connected fine.

What is so great about blackberries? I mean for casual users, obviously business peeps can access email and what not, but why do so many people have one? Is it more of a status symbol?

It's good to remember stuff with and keep appointments. I dunno what else though, I've never had one.

RIM made the blackberry pearl with the intention to target younger, non-busness folk i believe. its cheaper, smaller, lets functions...and people can still walk around saying they have a blackberry and think theyre cool. theyre just expanding their market

i hate the phone, personally.

as salaamu alaikum,

windows mobile devices have a whole lot of available applications and sync well with windows productivity applications, but are not always the most stable. other platforms (symbian, palm, etc.) may be more stable, but not always ideal for demanding business users. so RIM created the blackberry platform for just that market. business users need very reliable, bullet-proof devices that work well for everyday productivity-intensive use.

so theoretically, the blackberry platform comes from this tried-and-true business pedigree, and the pearl/curve series are supposed to be specialized versions of the blackberry platform geared towards consumer users. more stability but in a user-friendly package.

i personally think that so far, they still feel more like business-oriented devices. hopefully the newer models will change that.
