Re: Cell Phones
I've had this phone since stone-age..(about 5 years)
I don't care if people laugh at me, at least I know how to use it and it doesn't take me 10 minutes to write a text and then another 10 minutes to find a contact.
I know it's going to die soon though, so I'm extra nice to it these days..

Re: Cell Phones
I want a new cell phone. I don't need one - I just want one. I got my current phone back in September and had it replaced twice since. The first time, one of my students stepped on it cracking the outer LCD. The second time, the ringer stopped working.

I guess it all depends on what you need.. the qwerty keyboard & WM6 are essential for me when I'm travelling. Size & camera aren't really that big of a deal to me, though the HTC cameras and camera software do suck. I work from home and when I travel, I usually put my cellphone and other crap in my laptop bag. If I'm in the car, the cell goes into the center console. So it ultimately spends relatively little time in my pocket.
The thing about the Dual Touch or Soul that would've been nice is the ability to text more easily with one hand. I can do it with the Wing, but it's awkward when driving.

DUDE, you cant txt while driving, thats just as unsafe as drunk driving.
yeah, the qwerty k/b is nice on the tilt. i just wanted a light fone and good camera. so you're right, depends on needs.

I'm not being mean. You probably have a really good reason why you need an expensive cell phone. I don't need one, so I can be cheap, and get a free one that comes with renewing my contract
And no coffee. Coffee makes me sorry.

Re: Cell Phones
Nokia 6500classic (in silver)
OR
SE W890i ?
Both free on the same contract.
I like this size. Lightweight, easy to hold. Want a half decent camera. Not really good, Just okay will do. But the nicer the better.
Currently I have the nokia 6300. The camera's like minimum decent-ness for me. 2mp, no autofocus, no flash, I make do with night-mode half the time.
Nokia above has 2mp cam with flash
OR SE has 3.15 mp no flash or autofocus. Do we know if it has night mode?
Which is better?
The other thing it has to be decent with is keypad. If i can text without looking easy peasily all the better.
The SE is looking better for that cuz theres actually space between the potruding buttons. But my current nokia has no spaces between buttons, they're just big enough so its okay. The above nokia seems similar, but I dont know if its a tad worse. But are the SE's buttons too small and crammed too far down the bottom half of the phone?
Build quality. I seem to enjoy dropping phones. Nokias like being dropped, Sony Erricsons dont seem to. Thats based on 2 nokias and 2 SE's ive encountered in my house. May not be true of all SE's though. But the Nokia 6500 seems so thin and tightly packed and seamless, enough to take the falls?
PLEH. Please. You get reps.
EDIT: Battery. Dont remember what they say they are but the hours written are hardly ever true (?). But apparently SE has more. Current phone needs recharging every 1 or two days, do either of these last longer (in reality, not just on paper)?

Build quality is a big one for me, too. I drop my phone, and have been occasionally known to throw it or smash it against things . I had a Nokia 3650 for like 3 years (2002-2005) which held up under all that, along with being dropped in the ocean twice. No other phone has ever lasted me even half as long. Nokias are by far the best built phones, imo.

One of my brothers gets real angry, real fast. I've seen him throw it at people, out the window- then drive back and pick it up, smash it against the table or wall and stuff. It usually happens when someone pisses him off over the phone.
Anyway, I've dropped my phone twice and it has a couple of scratches on it now
