Play Station VS XBOX 360
I'd like to buy one. I'd like to know people's opinions of the game systems. I like play station, but I love Rockstar, which I've played on XBOX 360. Does it make sense to pay more for the playstation?

360 is the way to go, although PS3 is a better value because it plays Blu Ray DVDs.
360 has better games though IMO

Xbox 360 has alot more good titles, and a better controller. As far as I know its still less expensive too. Right now its definitely the better choice
on the other hand its unstable and craps out alot. Microsoft has a nice warranty policy so its pretty painless to get it fixed, but its a hassle.

i got my bro an xbox.. it crapped out and he was too lazy to ever replace it. later, i wound up getting a ps3 for myself.
the 360 has a wider selection of games right now, but the ps3 is better technology and the game selection is improving, imo. plus it has a blu-ray dvd player. i'd go with the ps3.

the newer xobx 360s dont really have as many problems as they used to. and they have better games
the only reason why the ps3 is better is because of bluray and pretty soon, youre gunna need to buy a blueray dvd player (which are pretty costly) because all dvds and stuff are gunna be in that format
id still vote xbox!
and buy rockband! its the shiiiiiiiiit yo

PS3, hands down.
As many others pointed out, it doubles up as a Blu-Ray player and well, it's beautiful to look at. 
There weren't many games to start with for it but the range is getting better. Hopefully, it'll only improve. But it really depends on the games you like to play. You need to check out what kind of games are already availabe and those that are in the pipe line for each console.
The xbox is good as a media centre extender, the PS3, not so much...but it's still nice to look at. Though the xbox is so loud, you get annoyed because you can't really use it for too long for media stuff.
I know I haven't helped much, but remember, the PS3 is prettier. 
Oh and if you're in the UK, the warranty on the new xbox is no longer 3 years. It's a 1year standard warranty.
