Yeah facebook was down for a while but i never heard anyone having their content wiped out like that ....must be a crash. try logging in again tomorrow to see if your account content is retrieved from the main server.

Asalamu Alaikum,

Why not, I have my uncle and a few aunties on my facebook. Its cute when the aunties post on my wall saying "okay! I've found how to write on the wall! "

Some people got taken off my friends list when it switched over to the new Facebook, I don't know. I got messages asking why I deleted them. Maybe I went emo in my sleep again and sleep-deleted people off.

Asalamu Alaikum,

Your cat?

Everyone in my extended family panicked when my Uncle joined, his wall was crazy, mine and one other were the only posts that were actually welcoming him.

But in any case, I joined facebook primarily because so many of my relatives and family friends are putting there albums up, and always referencing us there whenever a major event occurred, it just made things easier to sign up, check the updates, and show my mom the pics.

I don't put up any pics on my FB because there's a clause in the FB's fine print that says that they own the rights to everyones photographs.

Yah, best to use second hand services like flickr to keep your photos. Atleast they remain yours.

I think most people disregard legalities when it comes to ease of use.

Nothing in life is for FREE

It's like saying .. sure .. go drive a car on the public streets, we'll just keep tabs on where you drive to at what time, and videotape you -- forever. And we're not exactly the government doing it for your security, so that's not our excuse. We're doing it because we can, and you don't really care what we do with all this information.

I wonder if people would feel as comfortable if such a situation arose in a non-digital world.

You can add her if you want, but she's going to see everything you do on facebook. So if you write something inflamatory on someone's wall, she'll know and will probably question you about it.

Not if you setup your privacy settings so that she cant see your activities.

Yes, Add her. And when you find a potential rishta, click the recommend friend option and recommend your mom to be friends with her.

I added my dad's friend, who is this teacher over in Cali. It was kinda like, "hey! he's got facebook" at first, then it was like, "crap, now I can't be all silly with my statuses." I hope he hasnt gone through my friends list saw all the males and told my dad. Even though in my defense, they are all either guys I had class with at one point, or people from groups or islamicans.
