You're not my Facebook friend 'cause you're not cool enough. Also, you were mean to me in the Punjabi thread.

Is that a question?
You were mean to me more than once. Ask Sona. She witnessed it.
Or just go back and look through the thread.
If you apologize, I'll consider adding you as my Facebook friend.

Yeah, I thought that would jog your memory. S'all good though. Forgiven and forgotten.
Punjabi moms: owning their kids everyday. Ouch.

Re: Facebook Thread
Am I the only person here who thinks Facebook is a complete waste of time?
I'll admit it's a good tool to use to at least know what people you haven't seen in ages are doing. However, when people say that it's a good tool to "catch up" then I start to disagree.
Reasons I don't like Facebook:
* You can't make any comment without your 100s of friends seeing it when they log in. So obviously you're not going to say too much or have a good catch up. I think 95% of what I'd like to say to my best friend I couldn't say on facebook. If it has nothing to do with catching up for coffee some time (admittedly I just said Facebook isn't good for catching up) then it's just some nothing chit-chat. People I know are cautious of what they say because so many people are watching. You can't say, "So dude, did you go back with that chick last night?" because your sister might be watching or that chick might be watching etc.
* This will sound ridiculous, but so much of it feels like a show to impress people. Some of my friends try and add as many people as possible just to make it seem like they have a lot of friends, which is pathetic. Then they make sure they're on it a lot because if people see they're not getting many comments then heck not much is going on is it? I know that sounds ridiculous, but I swear people I know are self-conscious about how their facebook appears to people.
For me that's the worst part about facebook, people constantly use it to try and appear as if a lot is going on in their life. Maybe that's a little judgmental... but people do try and impress other people on facebook.
* So many people I know just go through everyone's profiles and I know that's the point of it... but you reach a stage where it gets creepy. Or maybe I should just get some new friends. But to me it feels invasive.
* It's terrible for gossip. If somebody changes their relationship status on facebook, you know about it. I know some people when they used myspace, they'd go through every myspace and see who's single and that creeps me out even more.
* It's addictive. So many people I know almost feel compelled to check theirs everyday just so they don't miss out on people's lifes and any gossip. I suppose this goes back to the "it's invasive" argument I was making. It almost has the same appeal of a celebrity tabloid in that people feel compelled to know what's going on as soon as it happens. It irks me when people say, "hey did you know so and so broke up with so and so?" And I'll say, "How do you know that?" You know the answer.
I admit it would be useful to at least see what people are up to... people you haven't seen in a long time, but aside from that it's an arse backwards way of socialising.
