I dropped my cell phone in the toilet
It wont turn on even though I dried it off with paper towels and left it to dry for an hour or so. What is the next step to saving my phone?

Did you take out the battery and the SIM card and dry them too?

take out the sim card (if it has one)
and take out the battery
let it dry overnight
it most likely wont work anymore. if its ever gunna work, itll be by tomorrow morning.
buy a new phone bro

yes but they are still dead. actually the sim probably works, i'll test it in my old phone when i get a chance (i am killing time at a hospital at the moment)

probably was on top of the toilet and then it buzzed and dropped in.

it somehow fell out of the shirt pocket of the scrubs that i'm wearing, fell backwards over my shoulder and into the toilet. i was taking off my coat at the time it happened. I still dont understand exactly how it happened. Its mystifying because it seems to have defied gravity
it might have been a sign from Allah because i was planning on starting to call up lots of girls tonight. Maybe the angel over my left shoulder took it and threw it in the toilet

Okay, whatever you do, don't keep plugging the battery back in the phone to "test if it works". Electricity and water don't mix obviously, so you don't want to mess the battery up aswell.
You need to totally dry the phone - it'll probably take 2, 3 days. Try and keep it somewhere warm, maybe on your TV, or back of your computer or something. During that time, don't put the battery in the phone.

It took me 9 hours to reach over and steal the lotta from the stall next door.

i really dont care about the phone, i just want the information on the phone and especially the stuff on the sim card to be ok... if i lose all that then its going to create all kinds of headaches. I'll try to do what you suggested, but to be honest i already shoved in my battery 3 or 4 times so i dont expect it to come back to life

i dropped my phone in the toilet once. you gotta take it allllllll apart in every way possible and let it dry at least over night. don't keep trying to "test" it.. you might fry it and that would suck. also, disinfect it once its dry. its two years now and my phone is still working.  |
