And to believe, either in jest or for real, what another may say about when you will die, comes very close to shirk.

Stop confusing the two issues here and make the critical distinction:
In one case, some stupid website is saying you will die on XYZ date, while in another case the doctor is saying that based on his understanding of the facts and his experience, you likely have X amount of years left to live, because you have a terminal illness. He is not making a prediction or a sworn statement that you have X number of years left in your life, he's simply giving you a reasonable assessment based on his knowledge and experience.

A teacher will only say that based on his or her assessment of the student's progress so far in the course and based on how the marks and grades are weighted.

dude...the whole website is a joke...they are basically looking at your BMI and if you are a smoker or not, and basically figuring out how long you could live...
its like they are trying to warn people to stop smoking and not get obese...

exactly...but the purpose of the site is to show people that if you smoke and are obese, years are taken off of your life...nobody is saying that if the site says you will die in ten days that you WILL die in ten days......
