Playstation 3 thread
Seems like all the other systems have threads, so why not this one?
I got one recently & so far I'm impressed with it. It looks great in HD, much better than xbox 360 imo. Only problem I have is that the controllers are a bit smaller than the 360 controllers (I have big hands).
I'm pretty disappointed in Assassin's Creed. It's not nearly interactive enough. It's more like you go to place X and press whatever button they tell you to. Kind of like the game is playing itself.
But I like the rest of the games I got, especially Fight Night Round 3 & Madden 2k8.
What games are hot for this system right now?

Oblivion is ridiculous, if you're into RPGs. The graphics are breathtaking and the depth and interactivity of the game are pretty impressive. Ninja Gaiden Sigma is also amazing.

Re: Playstation 3 thread
ps3 is so expensive-but it looks like a good system.
If I had a choice between ps3 and xbox, i'd go w/ ps3.

I've played Oblivion a lot for the PC, so I didn't want to get it for the PS3. But yeah, it was probably the best game I've ever played in my life.
I've heard mixed reviews on Ninja Gaiden..
So far I've got:
Assassins Creed (disappointing)
Fight Night Round 3 (awesome)
Madden 2k8 (awesome)
Need for Speed Carbon (ok.. kind of lame)
Call of Duty 4 (haven't played much yet, but I'm a fan of the series)
Virtua Fighter 5 (complicated, but looks good so far. haven't played much yet)
I hear "Warhawk" is good for playing online.

"There is no difference whether you have a basketful or a small piece. They all taste the same," Hodja remarked.

I agree that Fight Night is totally awesome. I was really looking at picking up Assassin's Creed, and it got fabulous reviews. What didn't you like about it? What do you mean that the game is not interactive?

well keep in mind, a lot of people liked it.
to me, so far, it's completely lame and repetitive. you walk around and press whatever button you're told to, climb towers, etc. there's a lot of just going places and then pressing L1 to do some activity. the combat also seems really lame (though it's supposed to get better as the game progresses & you earn new moves/weapons).
a friend of mine who also thought it was really lame at first insists that it gets better as you play on. but the flaws within the game seem insurmountable to me.
i'd recommend renting it for a few days before you blow $60 on it.
even though i normally hate fps, bioshock looks very cool. too bad it's not available for ps3.

Re: Playstation 3 thread
Asalaamualaikum,
I bought a PS3 like 3 or 4 weeks ago. I got Heavenly Sword for free. It's an ok game, but just a button masher. I borrowed someones Resistance and have been playing that for a week or 2. It's pretty fun. I'm lookin forward to Burnout Paradise, Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Online, GTA4, FFXIII, GT5, Unreal Tournament III and Resident Evil 5. I'm lookin for a good FPS, other than Resistance, that has online playability. Anyone know any?
Asalaamualaikum,
-Zahid

I think the wii's for kids, there doesnt seem to be any real game play, it's just exercise for obese/hyper children.

Revert: I can't afford one so obviously i think it sucks more than a dyson vacum cleaner.
I wish my husband thought that. I found out how much he paid when he was discussing the Xbox vs. PS3 with my brothers. He was all about how he got it pretty cheap from ebay...400 bucks does NOT sound cheap to me! The worst part is, he doesn't even use it anymore, ahhhhhhhhhh.
