I drove to Boise with my Uncle when I was a kid, and on the way there you basically follow the western edge of the Oregon trail. He pointed out EVERY SINGLE GRAVEYARD along the way! Apparently one of my ancestors kept a really detailed journal about their trip out west, and she would mention all the aweful things that happened during the journey.
It would be such a depressing movie that it would be sure to get Best Picture and such. Just think of it, you walk half-way across the US, one of your children dies, and another is seriously maimed along the way. You finally arrive at your homestead after several months of travel. That's not the end though, now you have to BUILD YOUR HOUSE, plant your crops, and work like mad, otherwise you won't make it through winter, which is only a few months away. Durring winter, you have another baby, which dies of pneumonia.
That movie would ROCK!!!

that would be so awesome

Re: Ten Video Games That Should Be Movies (According To New York Magazine)
In a world in which eight actual game plots were scrapped for a schlocky original story which became Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, there will NEVER be a good movie based on a video game.

Re: Ten Video Games That Should Be Movies (According To New York Magazine)
Well, Advent Children was based off the FFVII plot. It even had the characters, too. I never owned anything but the subtitled version, though, and never really watched that to completion.
I just remember seeing that Rufus somehow, inexplicably survived and I just laughed.
I mean, seriously.

Not theatrical. Doesn't count.

Re: Ten Video Games That Should Be Movies (According To New York Magazine)
Final Fantasy movies sucked--great graphics--but it's such a shame. I have to say Final Fantasy X tho is my favorite.
