Yes. It should be there.

New Question: Downladed Fonts:
If I download a new font onto my computer, and use it in a word document (or powerpoint, whatever) is there anyway I can ensure that if I email it to someone, who hasnt got that font on their computer, that they will be able to view it in its original form?
I mean, if they do not have the font which I used, when they open it, the font is automatically changed to some random font they do have on their computer -is there anything I can do to prevent it changing, so it can be viewed as it was created?
|
You could send them the font , or make whatever you to want written in that font into an image.
Other than that, if they dont have that font, i think their pc will try change it to a near match if it can.

Assalamualaikum .
I tried the making it into and image thing. the document is actually a(n Isoc registration) form. So it's a table, and there's the font all the way through it- in each box. So I had to print screen it in two or three sections, paste them back onto word, resize them, crop them, and line them up and reposition them! and basically I dont want to have to go through all that for everytime I need to send something.
I did think of the sending people the font last night actually. Which seems a lot easier, but only if say i'm sending it to a few people. Except I was thinking at some point I might want to email registration forms to people, (e.g if people email us asking to join mid-year or something/ or if I dont have any hard copies to hand/send them to all our existing members the following year to update their details/ or i may need to open it on another computer for printing or showing someone).
So here the problem with the image thing is -people cant fill it in if its an image (unless i create like 19 text boxes :s)
The problem with the sending the font thing -it's a bit inconvenient if sending to lots of people and also, if I sent them to uni email adresses/people access their emails at uni, because they dont have administrator access, they may not be able to install fonts? (coz it has to go in Local Drive C;WINDOWS;Fonts- dont think we even have access to drive C, not sure).
I downloaded fonts coz I didnt have design software and I wanted to make a poster (which I could do on paint so thats not really a problem I think), but I thought since got the fonts i'll just use them on the reg forms. I should've just done it in normal boring font since it's just the reg form but I never realised the problem before and now I dont wanna change it coz it looks cool ...
I guess I could just change the fonts inside the table and keep the titles bit by changing them to images if i ever needed to send out lots..
Unless anyone has any other suggestions ?
Please

In situations like that, where its just a registration form and whatnot, you want to keep things very simple and just use universal, non-serif fonts such as Verdana or Arial.
Neither of the other two options (image or font inclusion) are practical.

Re: The "I Need Technical Help" Thread
Asalaamualaikum,
You could also make the form into a PDF document. That would pretty much solve the impracticallity of cutting and paste and the wierdness of having to email the font as well.

You have to use Adobe Acrobat. You can download a trial version from adobe's website. Then in your microsoft word document hit print and print it to an Adobe PDF document.

walaykum salaam.
I found that trail version thingy earlier today infact . Except I didnt do that 'printer' thingy. I didnt understand that. There was this option to convert them online. So tried that. But it still didnt recognise my font . It opened and the font was all changed...

I guess thats the best option really.
New question: Sometimes you download forms and whatnot from online and they are in pdf format- and it is not possible for you to alter the original form, but there are spaces for you to write in. How does one go about making something like this?

Try getting a job, like the rest of us.
It *might* help.

Re: The "I Need Technical Help" Thread
there is this other program that reads pdf files: foxit
its free and a pretty small program. you can edit things in it, but it will show this lil box at the bottom saying taht you edited your file using that program. you can delete that box too, but sometimes it comes back...
