as far as I see it, the advantages with the ipod are that you have a lot of accessories available along with all the content on itunes. otherwise, the features aren't that great (sound quality, lack of voice recorder, etc.)

others I've seen (sandisk e-series, creative zen) have an amazing assortment of features (video, voice recorder, etc.), but they just don't have all the cool things you can get if you have an ipod (podcasts, accesories, etc).

any opinions on this?

I go where the storage is. Ipod swooned me over with its latest 160Gig classic. Otherwise I was quite happy with my Creative Zen before that.

the next generation zune has a bigger screen 3.2 inch vs ipods 2.5, cheaper also. i would get one, if i needed one! 80gigs too, not bad.

Except for the fact that Zune Zucks and I don't need an MP3 player, I would get one

Ipod is good. Just ditch the cheap earphones that come with it.

I finally joined the craze and got a free 30 gig ipod

the access to those podcasts alone is worth the cost alone! I'm now subscribed to:

spanish lessons (for refreshing)
This American Life (National Public Radio)
A couple of health/medicine related ones

Post which ones you listen to or find interesting/helpful.
