A Pathan Warrior's Farewell
Beloved, on a parchment white With my heart's blood to thee I write, My pen a dagger, sharp and clean, Inlaid with golden damascene, Which I have used and not in vain, To keep my honour free from stain, Now when our house its mourning wears, Do not thyself give way to tears, Instruct our eldest son that I was ever as anxious to die, For when death comes the brave are free, So in thy dreams, remember me. The Golden Pomegrenate by John Baker (1966) - London

![]() But thanks for the civil post. The most famous is Ahmad Shah Abdali without who's leadership and the blood of the Pakhtuns and Baluchi's on the field of Panipat NONE of India's Muslims would have survived the Maratha's. Battle of Panipat (1761) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia It's worth recalling that apart from the Baluchi's the ancestors of people who are now telling us about how their Arab lineage is 'truer' and what 'great scholars' their ancestors were didn't dare to show up on the field. So much for 'Sayyids' and 'Gilani's' and nobility. The only nobility is that of deeds and ghayrat not of words and ancestry The others are ghazi-scholars.

Battle of Panipat is worthless compare to the great battle of karbala
![]() especially when one finds out from the wiki source that was posted here "The Afghan officers who had lost their kin in battle were permitted to carry out masscres the next day in Panipat and the surrounding area. They arranged victory mounds of severed heads outside their camps. About 10,000 Maratha civilians and soldiers alike were slain this way on 15 January 1761. Many of the fleeing Maratha women jumped into the Panipat well rather than risk rape and dishonour." |

The joke is on you Chisti..If we're going to make comparisons my ancestors were the one's who fought at Panipat and shed their blood there that Islam shouldn't vanish from India...and the one's who promised aid but hid in their houses whilst the Maratha's raped their women...well they certainly weren't my ancestors... ![]() Karbala was one group of Muslims killing another for power...how does that compare with Panipat ? but yeah I'm pleased to see you shedding so many tears for the Maratha's considering how sweetly they treated your ancestors when they occupied your lands... The Battle of Panipat is also notable for a number of other reasons 1. It is one of the few battles where the Muslims defeated an empire which was at the peak of it's power and wielded equivalent well-trained forces against them. The only better example I can think of is Badr. 2. The Pakhtuns and the Baluchi's would have gained far more if they had cut a deal with the Maratha's and left your ancestors to rot under their occupation. Some of the best and brightest of the Pakhtuns and Baluchi's reddened the earth of Panipat with their blood. If they had survived the Pakhtuns would have found it much easier to deal with the Sikh empire which was then aided with mine-laying techniques learned from the Maratha's who escaped the battle..the ones who's deaths you are crying about. Amongst those lost at Panipat were Ahmad Shah's brothers-in-law and his nephews. What did your ancestors lose at Panipat Chisti ? Btw Vishwasrao was cremated with full honours by Ahmad Shah Abdali... Oh and... Bad-asl wafa nah lari: nek-zat bewafa'i...

See this is exactly what I wanted to find out ... what your stance was, instead of all the stupidity you were displaying throughout ... and you finally mentioned it.
" Karbala was one group of Muslims killing another for power...how does that compare with Panipat ?" Was it really? This implies that Imam Husein was fighting for power. Now I ask you to back this claim with some substance. |
