Default Shining Stars of the Muslim Ummah: Salafi

Bismillah.

This, and other similar threads are being created with the intention of fostering brotherhood and cultivating/facilitating healthier relations between various sects and approaches to Islam among Sunni Muslims. I also intend to promote a greater appreciation of Islamic scholarship through these threads, and Allah is the One who grants success.

I hope to post biographies (or anecdotes from the lives) of at least five scholars in each thread: two classical, two contemporary, and one from the scholars I know personally, have met, or studied under.

This thread will InshaAllah include the biographies of:

Classical Scholars:

Imam Taqiuddin Ahmed Ibn Taymiyah(r)
Imam Ibn Qayyem al-Jawziyah(r)

Contemporary Scholars:

Shaykh Muhammad al-Amin ash-Shanqiti(r)
Shaykh Muhammad bin Saleh al-Uthaymin(r)

Scholars I've met:

Shaykh Ghazi Ozair Mubarakpuri(h) or Shaykh Sa'd ibn Nasir ash-Sheshri(h)

PS: I may post reviews of their works instead of their biographies. Others are free to contribute.

Shaykh Ghazi Ozair Mubarakpuri(h)

Asalamu Alaikum,

Is he related to Shaykh Saifur-Rahman Al-Mubarakpuri? I met his daughters here, at Jaama't tul Riyaadh.

Fi AmanAllah

The doors of kings are locked now and guarded by their henchmen, but Your door is open to all who call upon You. My Lord, each loved is now alone with his beloved. And I am alone with Thee.
