Default innovation?

"If you spend more time proving yourself than you do improving yourself, you have most likely given in to innovation."

-meaning innovators bring up tiny little things and expound on them so much that they spend all their time trying to prove why they are not innovators rather than fearing Allah and spending time in good deeds.

-i've found this to be true....from this sect to that sect (will not mention due to my concern of fitna)...all have been graced with eloquence in speech, but few with taqwaa...always wanting to argue about why they are not innovators, but rarely want to strive in the way of Allah...

this is my personal observation anyways...

I am not sure who originally said it or where I heard it...it was either from a shaykh of the past, or it was from me...however i hesitate to attribute it to myself, even though it may very well be a possibility.

What about those that spend more time accusing/labeling others as innovators than they do improving themselves?

wait i cant tell ur tone lol...r u talkin about me? if so then that is totally not me...

but id suggest they look in the mirror and remind themselves of who Allah will be questioning on the day of judgement and about what lol, how many innovators he sought out, or how many deeds he has done.
