Asalamu Alaikum,
Or some people during their Tawaf will be on their cell phones loudly, laughing, joking, and talking about nonsensical things. It really burned me inside. May Allah(swt) grant them Hidaya. Fi AmanAllah

I can't believe somebody would travel all the way to the Holy Kaaba only to disrespect it in such a disgusting way. I'm sure people do other bad things there, we could go on and on, but this type of incident is sooooo easily avoidable. It's so common even at Jumu'ah prayers every week.
In my opinion they should have a big box where everyone is required to dump their cell phones BEFORE entering the prayer hall.. ugh. Or leave it at home or in the car, why do you need your phone in the masjid. So stupid. |

Um, yeah.

I remember reading about a young Saudi winning some award for writing a program that switched your phone to silent mode as soon as you entered a Masjid. I'm guessing they never took it seriously, or they never figured out the right kind of hardware to use it with.

Ameen. Also, some people chant duas in unison. They're extremely loud, and make it really difficult for those nearby to concentrate on their dhikr and duas.

Not when I was there. When I was there they were group chanting the dua's the rest of us were saying silently. One person would say the dua (loudly) and everyone else would recite it after (loudly). It wasn't just Shia's either, lots of people were doing the same thing. The Iranians were just the loudest.

No, it isn't. We have non-Shias from a variety of countries (India: particularly people from Kerela and Tamil Nadu, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Egypt (probably the loudest), Turkey, Nigeria, etc.) who do the same thing. Especially when the Imam is reciting the Qur'an in an exceptionally beautiful manner, and is crying out of the fear of Allah, and someone's phone goes "Tumhe dekha to.." or whatever.
