All I can say is that if Islamica reflects the general state of our Ummah, then the outlook isn't very sunny out there in the horizon

Re: Question
Asallamu 'alaikum wa rahmatulLahi wa barakatuh
Yeah, it's been bugging me for a while. Sure, it's mostly the humor that liked hayah, but dang, can we be a bit more modest, pleeeease? EDIT: lacked, not liked. Wow, what a coincidence. xD;
I'm having a hard time imagining burqa wearing hijabis parking their keester on the computer chair and ing over guys or making inappropriate jokes.
It's hurting my brain.
And I actually go out of my way to try and act a bit more modest than usual when I'm around other Muslims so I don't offend, then I find them like this.
I do hope not all Muslims are this... relaxed? o.o;
And now I feel like an extremist. ;-; Happy?

Re: Question
Nyasu (Meowth) already was with the boss before he was stuck with us.
The boss didn't want him neither, he's useless. >P
Pikachu could, I dunno, power his TV and stuff for him for free or... something.
<Yes, I just had to play along.>

I think thats why people tend to stick around here (some practically sleep and live on Islamica and have posted on almost every thread). Its more care-free and people are allowed to 'speak their minds' here so there doesnt need to be any haya.

so what does that say about you sister? isn't your opinion "free speech" as well?
i love judgemental people...
it's really no one's concern if someone has haya or not. if they made a comment or thread you deem inappropriate, politely but discreetly tell them and let it go. it will be in their hands then to decide how to move forward.
quite simply, we cannot change people so easily...especially through the internet (most of the time).
anyways, there are people who really piss me off here, but what can you do. that's life...

You totally missed my point.
What I meant by being able to speak one's mind is that, unlike many other forums that promote one sect or methodology, Islamica allows for all. But its just a handful of people who take advantage of that and use their free-speech inappropriately.
BTW - Thanks for not judging

I don't believe I missed the point at all.
And if this free for all attitude bothers you, sister, then why bother dealing with Islamica? Clearly, you like this website otherwise it wouldn't be a point of interest for you to come and post. I have whined about the quality going downhill too, but I enjoy the threads for the most part (especially political and religious ones), and can overlook the crap that is in other places.
My point here is that nothing is perfect. This forum perhaps might be a perfect example of our world. You've got the riffraff, the ultra-conservative, and people in the middle, among other things. It's just the way it is.
I suppose I was turned off by the haughty tone of your post. So I apologize for the tone of mine.
Wa aleykum assalam

Thats the wrong attitude yo...
Having no Haya in public has negative effects on people. Soon they start tolerating it and then eventually consider it normal and there goes your deen out the bay window...
So then what then?
