Default Sheikh Salim Al-Taweel's video lessons on the Athari Aqeeda

These lectures are some of the most informative lectures I have ever heard, the website calls these lectures as "explanations of chosen hadeeths in al-bukhari". Really informative, speaks on all the other aqeedas as well. Speaks on Al-Rububiya, Al-Uloohiya, and Al-Asmaa wal Sifaat. So far im on the sixth lecture thought you guys might enjoy. The lectures are in arabic, and sheikh Salim Al-Taweel was a student of Al-Alaama Muhammad bin Saleh Al-uthaymeen (rA).

wiyak, let me know what you think.

The Sheikh absolutley demolishes the ashari aqeedah. Athari Aqeedah is the true aqeedah, for those arabic speakers check it out.

For the most extensive defense of the Ashari aqeedah available, see the works of Shaykh Ninowy.

no thank you, ive seen and heard enough, athari aqeedah is the true aqeedah. Ashari = ahl al kalam aka ahl al biddah, I dont want to believe in someones philosohphy, I want the truth. The Quran and Sunnah the way the Sahabah understood it, not the way philosophers understood it.

This is nothing but rhetoric. If you listen to the works of Shaykh Ninowy, you will not find any 'philosophy" but statements from the Qur'an and Sunnah and the statements of the Sahabah (radhi allahu anhum). If you want to be objective, then you should at least listen to the opposing argument before condemning it, especially if its derived from the Qur'an and Sunnah since you might inadvertently be condemning the speech of Allah (subhana wa ta'ala) and His Rasul (sallahu alayhi wa sallam).

Ive heard the arguments before, this is how the ashari aqeedah is based on (this will be tough for me to say it in english)

1.) Its either based on philosophy

2.) If the daleel is from a hadith or verse, the meanings of the verses of ahadeeth are made up to help support their claims (this means that their explanation of the hadith or verse has no basis)

3.) When a verse or hadith is used and used with the correct meaning, they use the verse or hadith to support some other claim.
Example
"Laysa kamithlihee shay" (there is nothing like him) is used to support their claim that Allah SWT doesnt have a hand etc... Yet in the Quran Allah SWT mentions his hand. Allah SWT does have a hand, how it looks etc... is something we dont know and shouldnt think about, and that there is nothing like it. Allah SWT gave us this Quran in arabic "Kitabun fusalat ayatuhu quranan arabian" in the language of the sahaba, and none of the sahaba asked rasulAllah SAW what "yad" (hand) meant. Yet today, "yad" means gadir. So your telling me the ashari's know something that the sahaba didnt know. I can go on forever, but Im occupied and dont want to drag this, I know that you are a hardcore ashari, and i only ask Allah SWT to guide me and you on the correct path.

His explanations are actually based on the Maturidi school of Aqidah. However his material can be used to defend Ashari positions, since the Ashari and Maturidi only differ on six points. And Allah knows best.
