People still think islam is terrorism?
even 7 years after Sept 11 most people still think islam = terrorism, why is that ? are people just ignorant or are muslims not doing thier jobs to bring the actual message of islam?

I think it's mostly because there's a suicide bombing every day somewhere in the Middle East, and because Republicans constantly say the words "Islamic Terrorist"

On what basis can you claim that the majority think that?
I think people started learning about Islam more after 9/11 esp non Muslims ( Allah swt says in the Quran, They plot against you, but i am the best of the plotters or something to that effect so really 9/11 opened peoples eyes). I dont think people are as ignorant as we make them out to be about islam.

both.
yes 9/11 opened up a lot of people's eyes but it also made worse the ideas ignorant nonmuslims have about us.

I guess 9/11 sort of "filtered out" people to join Islam (like me). Allah (SWT) says that only certain people are pre-destined to Islam, so things like 9/11 make people aware of Islam and eventually convert.
It's kind of hard to explain.

true. nah i know what you mean. there have been hundreds of people who embraced islam because of 9/11 alhamdulilah. i just think it's unfortunate there are also many many close minded people who don't want to listen to anything but what they've always believed to be true. the biggest problem is lack of knowledge - you can never have too much. and that should be our duty as muslims, to spread the word.
