Brother Dawud Wharnsby Ali is a man who converted to 'Islam', initially out of awe of the Glorious Qur'an and an inclication to draw nearer to his Creator.
Like most converts, he too was taken away from the revealed Scripture as soon as he "officially" entered into the religion, giving up his musical instruments - and most importantly, his nearness to the Qur'an.
Practically all converts remain on the road leading them away from the light of the Qur'an, the road on which the majority are walking on. Dawud is a unique man because Allah has had mercy on Him and has shown him the way once again leading back to the Qur'an.
