IIC's Congrats on the Birth Anniversary of Syeda Fatima Zahra (AS)
The Islamic Information Center would like to congratulate you today on the birthday of one of history's greatest personalities: Lady Fatima Zahra. Today, hundreds of millions of Muslims around the world, from North America, to South America, to Africa, to Europe, to Asia and even to Australia are celebrating this special holiday.
Mother's Day, to many Islamic countries and many Muslim communities around, is on the birthday of the most revered Muslim women in all history, Prophet Muhammad's daughter Lady Fatima Zahra (Peace Be Upon Them). In the Islamic calendar this day falls on the 20th day of Jamadi-us-Saani. Fatima Zahra was born in city of Mecca, in modern day Saudi Arabia, to Prophet Muhammad and his wife Khadija binte Khawlid.
Lady Fatima is considered to be one of the most important and reputable of all women, not simply because she was the Prophet's daughter, but because she was a woman of great piety and incredible influence. She is held as an example for Muslim women to follow; Lady Fatima was devoted to Islam, her father, her husband, and her children - and was one of the earliest pioneers of women's rights in Islamic history. Many historical records indicate the Lady Fatima's great distinction. Islamic texts also indicate that, just as she holds a divine position of leadership here on Earth, she will also hold a similar position in Heaven.
Lady Fatima has many Arabic titles that emphasize her virtue such as: Siddiqah (honest), Mubarakah (blessed), Tahirah (virtuous), Zakiyah (unblemished), Batul (pure), Muhaddathah (Who angels speak to), and of course Zahra (luminous).
Lady Fatima was killed after suffering great physical trauma, and has been mourned for centuries by countless devout believers. It is not entirely certain where she was buried, as she requested a private and secluded ceremony, but most believe it is either at the cemetery of Jannatul Baqi or in the Masjid-un-Nabi in Medina, also in modern day Saudi Arabia.
IIC is also proud to announce the release of the Lady Fatima Zahra Information Packet. This packet is developed to help people learn about Lady Fatima, even if they have little or no familiarity with Islam. Presented as a mini-magazine, this packet will help readers learn about Lady Fatima's life, her accomplishments, and her relationship with her father - Prophet Muhammad. Click below and check it out for yourself! (PDF Reader required)

We, the majority, don't quite believe that she (ra) passed away due to physical trauma. Emotional Trauma (due to the loss of her father (asws)) maybe, but no physical trauma.

In the book Dalail Al-Imamah by Mohammed Bin Jarir al-Tabari al-Imami, on Abu Al-Fadhl al-Shaybani, on Mohammed Bin Hamam, on Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al-Burqi, on Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Isa, on Abdul Rahman Bin Abi Najran, on Ibn Sinan, on Ibn Miskan, on Abu basir, on Abu Abdullah (as), who said, "Fatima was born on 20 Jamad al-Thani 45 years after the birth of the Prophet and lived in Makkah for eight years and in Medina for ten years and lived after the death of her father for 75 days and died in 3 Jamad al-Thani in the year 11H".
In Misbah: On the 20th of Jamad al-Thani (Friday) in the year 3 after the advent Fatima (as) was born according to some narrations and in other narrations in year 5, and according to the Sunnis it was before the advent by five years.

Look, he's a Shia and he posted according to Shia beliefs without attacking Sunnis or Sunni beliefs. As Sunnis, we revere Sayyida Fatima (RA) as well.
While rahat is blatantly and vociferously sectarian, I don't think that was the intention of this thread. I don't think it's appropriate to turn it into a sect-bashing flame war.

Why do you guys have to get all sectarian all the time? Cool it. It's the same religion; there's no need to say "your religion" as if it's a different one.
Question: who believes Fatima RA was spared menstruation? And was always a virgin?
EDIT: Rahat, are you the Executive Director of IIC?

Re: IIC's Congrats on the Birth Anniversary of Syeda Fatima Zahra (AS)
salaams
while I appreciate that some of the sunni folks may feel the need to respond to historical discrepancies between the shia and sunni accounts, unfortunately it is unlikely that such a discussion can be had without totally derailing this thread.
The purpose of this thread was to celebrate the birthday of Bibi Fatima, so I'm gonna ask that y'all avoid any sectarian flaming here and if you need to discuss other issues raised by the op please start a new thread. I'm going to edit/delete some of the posts here to keep things on topic.
thanks

This is untrue.. the Qadianis, for instance, have been universally takfeer'd.
BTW, on an unrelated note, are you really half Memon?

Salaams,
for the record, your posts weren't ban material. In a different thread, they would be okay, I'm just trying to keep things civil and on topic in here. Any questions please pm me. Thanks.
