trying to find a hadith
salaams,
i remember this hadith quite clearly, but i cant find the source for it so if someone could help me out that would be awesome jazakAllah.
it goes something like, the entire world might will for something to occur but if Allah swt is not in favor for it no one can do anything..similarly, you may not want something to happen but if Allah swt wills it nothing will stop it from happening to you.

Check Arab'een Nawawi. I remember reading something similar in it. Also try the USC-MSA's hadith search.

Asalaamualaikum,
The Prophet, salAllahu alaiyhi wasalam, said to him while Ibn-Abbas was riding behind him on the same mount, "Young man, I shall teach you some words [of advice]: Be mindful of Allah and you will find him in front of you. If you ask, ask only Allah and if you seek help, seek help only from Allah. And know that if all the nations were to gather together to benefit you, they would benefit you only with something that Allah had already prescribed for you, and if they gather together to harm you, they would harm you only with something that Allah had already prescribed for you. The pens have been lifted and the pages are dry." [at-Tirmidhi]

Asalamu Alaikum,
Us kids literally memorized this hadith by the time we were 5. It was constantly told to us kids. MashaAllah....it does soothe down all your worries and endless strife over ambitions.

Maybe only the kids in Arabia. Lucky kids. Insha Allah they've all taken it to heart  |

I was raised in canada (till I was 10) and than moved to america. I only recently moved to Arabia almost 3 years ago.
