Virtues Of Friday
Assalam Aalykum,
Rasulullah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said:"Friday is the best of days. It was on this day that Hadrat Aadam alayhis salaam was created, it was on this day that he was granted entry into jannah, it was on this day that he was removed from jannah, and the day of resurrection will also take place on this day." (Sahih Muslim)
Rasulullah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said:"There is such an hour on Friday that if any Muslim makes dua in it, his dua will definitely be accepted." (Bukhari, Muslim)
Rasulullah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said:"The word "shaahid" refers to Friday. There is no day more virtuous than Friday. There is such an hour in this day that no Muslim will make dua in it except that his dua will be accepted. And he does not seek protection from anything except that Allah Ta'ala will grant him protection." (Tirmidhi)
The word "shaahid" appears in Surah Burooj. Allah Ta'ala has taken an oath of that day.
He says in the Quran:
"By the sky in which there are constellations. By the promised day (of judgement). By the day that witnesses (Friday), and the day that is witnessed (day of Arafah)."
Rasulullah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said:"The Muslim who passes away on the night or during the day of Friday, Allah Ta'ala saves him from the punishment of the grave." (Tirmidhi)
On one Friday, Rasulullah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: "O Muslims! Allah Ta'ala has made this day a day of eid. So have a bath on this day, whoever has perfume should apply it, and use the miswaak." (Ibn Majah)

Re: Virtues Of Friday
Benefits of reciting Surat Al-Kahf:
From Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri, who said: “Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on the night of Jumu’ah, will have a light that will stretch between him and the Ancient House (the Ka’bah).”
(Narrated by al-Daarimi, 3407. This hadeeth was classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami, 6471)
“Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on the day of Jumu’ah, will have a light that will shine from him from one Friday to the next.”
(Narrated by al-Haakim, 2/399; al-Bayhaqi, 3/249. Ibn Hajar said in Takhreej al-Adhkaar that this is a hasan hadeeth, and he said, this is the strongest report that has been narrated concerning reading Soorat al-Kahf. See: Fayd al-Qadeer, 6/198. It was classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 6470)
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on the day of Jumu’ah, a light will shine for him from beneath his feet to the clouds of the sky, which will shine for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will be forgiven (his sins) between the two Fridays.’”
Al-Mundhiri said, this was narrated by Abu Bakr ibn Mardawayh in his Tafseer, with an isnaad with which there was nothing wrong.
(al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb, 1/298)
Baraa bin Azib said, "While a man was reciting soorah al-Kahf, the man saw his beast running away. When he looked up in it's direction he saw something like a cloud, and the man came and narrated the story to the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam who said, that it was tranquility and it came down with the Qur'aan."
[Tirmidhi 2810/A]
Protection from the Dajjal:
Abu al-Darda (Allah be pleased with him) related that the Prophet of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said, 'Whoever commits ten verses from the beginning Surat al-Kahf will be protected from the Dajjal.'
[Muslim, Abu Dawud, Nasaai]

Oh that's strange, I asked my pops what he was going to talk about in his Khutba today, and he said Surah Kahf. I guess you can't run out of things to say on this Surah.

Re: Virtues Of Friday
The Importance of Jumuah Prayers:
O you who believe (Muslims)! When the call is proclaimed for the Salât (prayer) on Friday (Jumu'ah prayer), come to the remembrance of Allâh [Jumu'ah religious talk (Khutbah) and Salât (prayer)] and leave off business (and every other thing), That is better for you if you did but know! (62:9)
The earlier a person goes, the more reward he will receive:
Rasulullah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: "On the day of jumu'ah, the angels stand at the entrance of that masjid in which jumu'ah salaat is to be offered. They write down the name of the person who enters the masjid first, and thereafter the name of the person who follows, and they continue doing this.
The person who entered first will receive the reward of sacrificing a camel in the path of Allah, the one who followed him will get the reward of sacrificing a cow, thereafter a chicken, thereafter the reward of giving an egg as charity in the path of Allah. Once the khutbah commences, the angels close the register and begin listening to the khutbah." (Bukhari and Muslim)
. Rasulullah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: "The person who misses out three jumu'ah's without any valid reason, Allah Ta'ala puts a seal over his heart." (Tirmidhi) In another narration it is mentioned that Allah Ta'ala becomes displeased with him.
Ibn Umar radiallahuanhu narrates that Rasulullah (Allah blesshim & give him peace) said the following in regard to those who leave out jumu'ah: "It is my earnest desire that I appoint someone as imam in my place while I go and burn the homes of those who do not attend the jumu'ah salaat." (Muslim)
By going walking for the jumu'ah salaat, one gets the reward of fasting for one year for every step that he takes. (Tirmidhi)
In an authentic hadith reported by (the group of Ahadith collectors), except Ibn-Majah that prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) said, "If you told your friend to pay attention on Friday while the Imam is delivering the speech then you committed a sin of vain talk."
It is also recommended that Muslims clean and wash themselves and make sure they smell nice when they attend Friday Prayers. Imam Muslim and Bukhari reported that the Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) said, "Every Muslim is obligated to wash on Fridays and wear his best cloth. Also, he should use perfume if he has any."
Rasulullah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: "The person who has a bath on Friday, purifies himself as far as possible, applies oil to his hair, applies perfume, leaves for the masjid, when he arrives at the masjid he does not sit down by removing anyone from his place, offers as many nafl salaats as possible, when the imam delivers the khutbah he remains silent - then his sins from the previous jumu'ah till now will be forgiven." (Bukhari)
Hadrat Ibn Umar and Abu Hurayrah radiallahu anhuma narrate that they heard Rasulullah (Allah bless him & give him peace) saying: "People should abstain from leaving out jumu'ah salaat If not, Allah Ta'ala will put a seal over their hearts whereby they will fall into severe negligence." (Muslim)
